Thanks so much. I’m in my late 30’s and lost so many learning brain cells due to drinking and partying. This made out very easy to understand binary. You should teach a class!

Damn, don't upload to Tiktok, or the youth will take all our jobs. Jokes aside, great and concise explanation of the concept. Well done, James!

Finger 1 is 1, finger 2 is 2, finger 3 is 4, finger 4 is 8, finger 5 is 16 and so on.
On one hand you can count to 31. 1+2+4+8+16 = 31.
Every finger that's up is a 1 and every that's not is a 0. 😉

Since binary is base 2 what other number would 10 be in base 2? Given binary is base 2, and 10 decimal is 10, why wouldn't 10 in base 2 be "1010", or two 10's? I remember talking an electronics class our teacher insisted we do needed to do everything in hexadecimal... Can't remember why, but i think ht got mad when i was doing all the hex calculations in my head faster than anyone with their calculators.
