Disney+ held an celebrity screening of “The Beatles: Get Back” on at Cineworld Empire Leicester Square in London. The upcoming three-part series is an original docuseries, directed by Peter Jackson and will be arriving on Disney+ just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday. Made entirely from never-before-seen, restored footage, it provides the most intimate and honest glimpse into the creative process and relationship between John, Paul, George, and Ringo ever filmed. You can watch “The Beatles: Get Back” when it rolls out over three days, November 25, 26, and 27, 2021, exclusively on Disney+.

Directed by three-time Oscar®-winning filmmaker Peter Jackson (“The Lord of the Rings” trilogy, “They Shall Not Grow Old”), “The Beatles: Get Back” takes audiences back in time to the band’s January 1969 recording sessions, which became a pivotal moment in music history. The docuseries showcases The Beatles’ creative process as they attempt to write 14 new songs in preparation for their first live concert in over two years. Faced with a nearly impossible deadline, the strong bonds of friendship shared by John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr are put to the test. The docuseries is compiled from nearly 60 hours of unseen footage shot over 21 days, directed by Michael Lindsay-Hogg in 1969, and from more than 150 hours of unheard audio, most of which has been locked in a vault for over half a century. Jackson is the only person in 50 years to have been given access to this Beatles treasure trove, all of which has now been brilliantly restored. What emerges is an unbelievably intimate portrait of The Beatles, showing how, with their backs against the wall, they could still rely on their friendship, good humor, and creative genius. While plans derail and relationships are put to the test, some of the world’s most iconic songs are composed and performed. The docuseries features – for the first time in its entirety – The Beatles’ last live performance as a group, the unforgettable rooftop concert on London’s Savile Row, as well as other songs and classic compositions featured on the band’s final two albums, Abbey Road and Let It Be.

An exciting new collaboration between The Beatles and Jackson presented by The Walt Disney Studios in association with Apple Corps Ltd. and WingNut Films Productions Ltd., “The Beatles: Get Back” is directed by Peter Jackson, produced by Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Yoko Ono Lennon, Olivia Harrison, Peter Jackson, Clare Olssen (“They Shall Not Grow Old”) and Jonathan Clyde (“Eight Days a Week”), with Apple Corps’ Jeff Jones (“Eight Days a Week”) and Ken Kamins (“The Hobbit” trilogy) serving as executive producers. Jabez Olssen (“Rogue One: A Star Wars Story”) serves as the film’s editor, the music supervisor is Giles Martin (“Rocketman”), Michael Hedges (“The Adventures of Tintin”) and Brent Burge (“The Hobbit” trilogy) serve as the series re-recording mixers, and the music is mixed by Giles Martin and Sam Okell (“Yesterday”).

I was there in the street listening to the Beatles playing the roof top concert in January 1969. I'm even in a shot in the original cinema film amongst the crowd in the street. It was a BLAST. We knew what was happening. It didn't sound great because the speakers were up on the roof instead of down in the street, but my kids are impressed that I was there, and so am I.

Giles Martin can be rightly very proud of his father. George comes across as the gentle persuader and motivator, always with perfect timing, and intervening just when the band needed it.

Oh what a pleasure to have our little Dhani speak so highly of his father George. Such a nice story

My dear old dad, who first saw The Beatles in 1962, long before they were superstars, still vehemently blamed Yoko Ono for the breakup - until I showed him Get Back a few weeks ago. It's quite odd seeing someone who's 81 going "Oh wow!" like a 20 year old. He doesn't blame anyone any more - because no one was really to blame. As dad put it after watching the last episode: "I guess it was just a rite of passage in the end." Sad, but natural.

That’s exactly when Giles was conceived! Best comment of the clip. So refreshing to hear honesty again. No self censorship. Just honesty. Has to come from The Beatles of course!

Everyone has had so much to say about the Beatles, people who weren't even there. Jackson's excellent series shows, in living colour, how they worked as a team. There is drama, comedy and creativity galore in these hours. Hats off to Lindsay-Hogg for the footage caught by his team and to Jackson and his colleagues for this testimonial to a monumental group!

Toast, cigarettes and tea were the only things The Beatles needed during this time period. The diet of champions haha

"my dad sat with a sad plate of oj and toast. Was that all they are was toast?" Yes Dhani. As a Canadian with British roots. All we eat is toast and tea. No joke lol

I am so glad I had elder sisters who bought and played all of their albums while I was growing up. I really enjoyed this production and now I know why they were called the Fab Four 💗 Love to Paul, Ringo and families. RIP John and George. 💓

Someone needs to tell Noel Gallagher that the documentary is about the album Let It Be.

"This is one of my favourite Beatles albums. I can't listen to Let It Be, I don't know why, I just can't listen to it. So this is one of my favourite of their records."

the movie was so immersive because of the excellent restauration that I ended up thinking: „I wonder how the audience will like the new songs“
— forgetting that this happened nearly 50 years ago 😂 Well — they like them very much!
