I thought the word necropolises in the title looked odd for a plural so I looked it up. According to one source, that is correct along with a couple of others, not that you really wanted to know : necropolises, necropoles, necropoleis, or necropoli.

My research on Ancient Egypt is far from exhaustive, but I keep getting the impression that Ancient Egypt is far older and more complex than the popular culture would have you believe. As a footnote: I visited the Ramses exhibit in Dallas or Fort Worth some years ago, and I remember walking around a corner and suddenly facing the statue of the great man. It was like being hit with a wall of power. I toyed with the idea of throwing myself before the great man's image and asking for blessings. I decided to leave quickly instead.
