Following years of stagnation and disruption during COVID-19, the PARIS21 Partner Report on Support to Statistics 2023 shows optimistic signs that the tide has begun to turn. Funding to data and statistics rose by 14% in 2021 to reach USD 799 million.

However, the landscape of funding has changed, with multilateral partners providing a greater share of financing than in previous years. Loans for data and statistics have also reached their highest ever level. In parallel, the report explores the apparent deprioritisation of financing for gender data, including the potential for gender-consciousness in wider development projects to fill these financing gaps.
