Domestic violence and football: 'I still won't watch a match'

Football is a source of joy for many, but anger at a team losing, fuelled by alcohol, can turn it into a source of fear for others.

Domestic violence soars during major tournaments, with women bearing the brunt of their partner's emotions. And that leaves many living in dread whenever the football is on.

It's the person not what they watch . Evil nasty insecure people do these things. We blame everything else but the Abusers.

I think this might go deeper than just football, but thankfully the lady is trying to get her life back on track .

Domestic abuse against men can be brought up another time this video is to cover how football and football culture impacts domestic abuse against women.
Clubs and men need to change to lower these rates.

A football issue has nothing to do with her and then it seems he's blaming her for the fact his team had lost

My uncle was a proper hooligan. He threw my goldfish bowl out into the garden and said "look! They're Man united fans.. gasping in shock".
As kids it was quite scary seeing a huge grown man go beserk about a game. It actually ruined his Life as he was actually jailed for Hooliganism smashing up a car when he didnt get into a match.

Those fans found guilty of domestic abuse should be banned from matches for life.

Police always pray for a win at home games.

I think the more toxic element is the copious amounts of alochol that is consumed while watching it on TV or wherever.

Orwell called it war without guns in his sporting spirit. The whole language and rhetoric of football you'd be excused for thinking it was war.

Its not just fans it's the sport commentators and press that play apart from winding these so-called fans up.

It's no surprise there is spill over. These people aren't just going to calm down after. Football clubs and sport channels have a lot to answer for capitalising off this stupidity and thuggery.

This link between abuse and football has been known about and reported for many years. Ironic then that as recently as 2022 Channel 4 beat both Sky and ITV to the rights to show a number of England matches. Funny old world eh.

🙏🙏🙏🌏 Never be in a relationship with physical violence and or drugs or alcohol. Never be on dating apps when married. Communication is always number one in a relationship.

That's what happens when u don't follow islam and think that alcohol shouldn't be completely banned. Remember what qatar did regarding alcohol during worldcup???

Football isn't the reason. Football is the excuse.
