This was the first regulation sword issued by the Royal Navy – the 1805 pattern Naval Officers sword. A descendent of the 1803 Infantry Officer Saber, the blade was altered from curved to straight.

This 1805 Royal Navy Officers Sword has a blade of unsharpened, tempered high carbon steel. The guard, backplate and pommel are brass. The grip is of faux ivory with inlaid brass wire. It comes with a leather scabbard with brass accents and brass hanging rings.

This style of sword is called a Spadroon.

From British terms, a sabre must be curved, so this is not a sabre. If it's straight and very cutting-centric, it's a pallasch.
