Everytime I see these videos I cringe. There is always a bunch of NON SICILIANS arguing with us telling us who we are, where we come from, our history etc. when they don’t know sh!t… I’am full Sicilian. Both my parents come from Palermo Sicily. I’am more qualified to speak on my ethnicity. Marone 🤌🏼 my 96yr old Nonno is more qualified. Yes! We have middle eastern ancestry. Some more than others. Some only a tiny bit. Sicily “Palermo” specially was conquered by everyone & ruled for long periods of times. Arabs being one of the conquers twice. “Arab dynasties ruled” Sicily. That’s where “The Moor Heads Of Sicily” & the legends come from.. North African being another in our dna. Marone 🤌🏼 Algerian is in mine along side Italian, Greek, Spaniard & many more ethnicities. I know this because not only do I know my famiglia line I did my ancestry-dna. I don’t trust ancestry-dna alone so I hired a Sicilian genealogist from Palermo Sicily. I didn’t give him my ancestry-dna info on purpose to make sure it all matched up. I gave him my name, sur names, my parents being from Palermo & famiglia names. That with my ancestry-dna, famiglia history (Grazzi Dio the old ppl in my famiglia kept everything) 😂 & the history of the island my famiglia comes from it all made sense & all matched up. That doesn’t mean every Sicilian has the same exact ancestry. Our ancestry, culture & history comes from the conquering many many years ago & it’s still seen today not only in our ancestry but, in Sicily “The Moor Heads” the legends behind them. In our culture our language. My famiglia speaks fluent Sicilian. Sicilian language is Arabic, Greek, Spanish & Latin combined. Now Here’s where the difference between a Sicilian & Italian comes in Italians “northerners” speak Italiano. We speak Sicilian (as my Nonno calls it) Our dialects are different. Italians donot have the same history as Sicily. Italians donot have mix diversity we Sicilians have. Now we do share being Italian, Greek & Spanish that’s bout it in ancestry. That is why Italians call us “mutts” do to our mix diversity. Sicily has tried to break away from Italy but, Italy won’t let them.. in closing I just wished ppl respected other ppl’s ethnicities. It’s not only rude it’s disrespectful to argue an ethnicity you are not apart of & will never know…

Northern Italians are mix of Italic, Germanic Celtic and even norman origin.

Nonsense not all sicilians or italians have middle eastern. The guy who makes them pizzas lays under a suntanning bed his brothers are white 😂 hes tanned in the winter like proper sun kissed. My wife in egyptian. My nan from there i spent summers in sicily as a child some are red head, blonde some are black haired but majority are brown hair. They are similar to greek but not cypriot the cypriots are basically middle eastern.
