Sardinia is so good for quiet summer holiday without over crowded cities and not much mass tourism. One can really escape in a crazy mad world. I have done so many hikes and long walks in crazy hot summer there. It’s another world.

Yes, there is always a boat, always a bicycle, always more to seek and have grande adventure....I will purchase a flat in either Sardinia for the best views, the best beaches, the ambiance...and or Puglia / Lecce ...where would you

The two islands are historically and demographically at the antipodes. On the one hand, there is Sicily, which has always been an island at the center of all historical events in the Mediterranean (an aspect that is reflected in the quantity and quality of historical monuments), highly populated and always projected toward the sea, so much so that most of the population has always lived in seaside cities. On the other side is Sardinia, which has always been an island with little population, which for most of its history (except for the last 50 years with the development of tourism) has lived within the island: with the exception of Cagliari all coastal towns (including Alghero, Olbia, Bosa, Tortolì etc.) were before the 1970s small villages.

Sardinia has much lower population density, particularly in the interior (good for hikers) while on the other side Sicily is significantly lower in latitude and therefore winters are milder and summers are warmer.

I have visited Sicilia for the first time few months ago. Very beautiful but your comments are correct. The cities are more rich than in Sardinia but unfortunately not always clean with some exceptions. Consider also the population, in Sardinia you can travel in some places for 30 minutes without meet anybody.

As a Sicilian you are right, but food is also Sicily 💪and Sicily takes nature cuz sicily has 75 natural reserves and Sardinia 60, also remember that Sicily has the tallest Volcano in Europe 🌋 (Etna)

If it weren't for the beaches no one would go to Sardegna. Greetings from Ragusa🍋

It's not an insult, but in Sardinia there is much more trash

If you're going on a 'beach vacation', then fine Sardegna. But if you want majestic nature plus culture...Sicily hands down. Sardegna while beautiful is also pale and flat (compared to Sicily).
