The Hidden Risks of Oracle VirtualBox

Here at MetrixData 360, we've seen Oracle's VirtualBox sales team reach out and demand payment for user's who've downloaded the VirtualBox Extension Pack add on. This tactic is used to scare you into buying licenses for VirtualBox - which you may not even have installed or have the need to. These underhanded sales attempts are chapter 1 in Oracle's sales playbook and it has been our goal to educate our clients on dealing with them.

If this is happening to you, don't worry.

With access to the right discovery data and a few scripts we can tell if you have the Extension Pack add-ons installed and where they are located in your environment. We can also help you shake free of this Oracle shake-down.

If you need an VirtualBox Coverage Report, book a meeting with our experts here:

The university where I work made me remove VirtualBox from my office computer due to the extension pack license - even though I was using it for personal and academic purposes. Fine. I switched to QEMU, which works better anyway.
