This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. There are many ways to succeed in life, but there are obstacles on the way. So what is the secret to unlocking the path to success?

Aditya Chaudhry is a senior at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology. His goals in life are to write like Alexandre Dumas, think like Tony Stark, act like Ralph Waldo Emerson, and inspire people like Marshall Mathers. Aside from his academic pursuits of math and computer science, he enjoys reading, watching movies, and playing the saxophone. Aditya will be attending UVA this fall. He is grateful to TJ for giving him an optimistic outlook on life.

About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

It has been a long, winding road since I first encountered this video and previously commented on it. In that interval, I have experienced various degrees of confidence in the speakers “nps” methodology.

Recent events which have transpired, events which I previously thought were completely unimaginable, have not just restored my confidence in nps, but strengthened it to a degree never before seen. These events have validated everything the speaker says and I’m proud to say “no pushover spirit” will be the guiding force to my life from this moment onward.

Aditya, if we ever meet in person, I want to give you a firm handshake. Thank you for changing my life.

Bravo.

Watched this again (11 months after my previous comment and first viewing). All I have to say is that, no matter how many times I view (nay EXPERIENCE) this talk, upon hearing your final words, I consistently find my entire body rushing with ethereal chills and set ablaze on a trailblazing path towards lifelong prosperity.

Incredibly inspiring oratory.  I respect the fact that you meticulously cited proven research by notable scientists such as Carol Dweck.  I will vigorously implement your novel "NPS" philosophy and teach it to as many people as I know.  Please try life-coaching as a career.  This was empowering.

I would like to file a personal complaint with the speaker in this video. Nearly 2 years ago I took all his advice to heart and I have neither moved past mediocrity nor found my passion.

I do get the message. Stop singing on your final words its distracting. Develop your confidence by making your words crisp and clear.

Almost all motivational speeches use Michael Jordan story... it's a bit sad because he is not the only one who has succeeded.

The Michael Jordan story is so overrated. He wasn't eligible to be on the varsity team as a sophomore. it wasn't that he was cut.
