With the release of Microsoft SQL Server 2016, I look at how Reporting Services and Power BI work together. From the Power BI mobile app, to pinning visualizations to a dashboard and how Reporting Services handles Power BI Desktop files.

Great explanation, thanks for consolidating all the SSRS and PBI integration info. Just wanted to clarify if we would need any gateways for the SSRS title refresh on Power BI.

Hey Adam, thanks for the great content. your videos are really helping me in my implementation.

I'm currently integrating Power BI Report Server and Power BI service, I'm wondering if I can publish reports to report server from Power BI service, is that possible?

Hey Adam, Great video..
How to configure the Power BI Report Service (version January 2020) for users with access to the home page to view the desired report with the full screen?
I found the "embed = true" solution but the application occurs on each report link and I would like to configure it for all reports in the report service automatically.

Hey Adam, I have a question if we run PBRS ans SSRS in parallel on same server does it impact performance of any of the reports mainly the PB reports?

Hey Adam, thanks for all the great content. I am trying to embed a report from the PBI Report Server on prem within the Content Area of a Power BI App in the Service. Is there a setting I need to configure on the report server to allow the embedding of reports in a web page? Is there any documentation on this?

I really would like to use the SQL Reporting Services and the Power BI but the price for a small software/portal is unfortunately impeditive, starting at $5k/ month forces me to search for others alternatives.

Hi, I need your help to understand the below scenario.
I am unable to open any report(*pbix/*rdl) in Sql server reporting server browser instead When I click on the report it downloads it and asks me to save and then open in Power BI Desktop in case pbix file and in Report Builder in case of rdl file.

I can upload Power BI reports in SSRS as well as can deploy SSRS reports from report builder on this server.

Hi!!!great stuff!!! I was wondering, if I purchase SQL Server 2016 and use the Reporting Services login credentials in the Power BI mobile app, can I also see Paginated Reports or just the Mobile and KPIs Reports?

Once I login with my Reporting Services credentials can I use the power BI service to create Power BI reports or is it just for viewing what linked Reporting Services Reports? If I can use it, does it treat me as a ‘Free’ or ‘Pro’ user?

Hi Adam! I pinned some items on a dashboard and I would like to know whether there is any chance to influence the title and the subtitle which are automatically written to the dashboard. I did not find a chance til now. Even if I disable title and subtitle in the dashboard, at the next update they appear again.

Thanks a lot. So no way to be able to connect to our reporting services server from outside while using the App? Or we just need to publish the report server url externally?

Hi Adam, Thanks for the video. Could you please let me know is there any way to use the chart types between power BI, SSRS report builder, and mobile publisher? Also is there any possibility to edit mobile publisher report using report builder or power bi without redesigning the same. My requirement is to add a background image, change font style and size for a mobile publisher dashboard, unfortunately not found any option with the tool. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

In SSRS 2016 Configuration manager when I select Power BI Integration, I get a Green check mark next to Sin in to Azure Active Directory but a red X next to Registering Power BI ClientApp with the message: Failed to register Power BI Client application. You may not have permissions to register an app with Azure Active Directory. What do I do. Thanks to any one with help.

Is there a way to run an SSRS report from a Power BI Dashboard passing some parameter values? Or this is what you are working on?

Where did Riccardo make his comment (I'm not seeing it on the Azure Advisors Yammer) of on-prem PowerBI?  Is there any more official announcement of this anywhere?

Can you help me !!

when i try to upload power bi desktop rapport in SSRS technical preview, appears to me this Error

We can’t open this Power BI Desktop report because it contains an unsupported data source connection or embedded data. This preview version supports only Power BI Desktop reports that connect live to SQL Server Analysis Services (on-premises).
