The opening scene was on Bravo's 100 Scariest Movie Moments. When audiences saw that scene, they thought that Drew Barrymore was going to be the hero, but they were in for a shocking surprise.

Drew having the idea to have herself killed off in the first scene made for one of the best idea's in movie history. You gotta give her the credit she deserves. It also kind of gave her career a second boost .

Drew Berry more had a short apprearance yet it was her comeback. Love this franchise. Rest in peace Wes Craven. You are one of the best horror directors of our generation

I personally think from start to finish, this is Craven’s best work. It holds up the best as well.

Scream is a masterpiece. It’s beautifully written, directed and acted. Every time I watch it, I’m sucked into the world of Woodsboro.

They definitely made all the right casting choices...I couldn't imagine any of the other choices in the roles

There are some really interesting things about Rose McGowans involvement in the movie.
She was paid half of what the rest of the cast got due to her overzealous lawyer asking for too much. As a result she was punished with less. Regardless she went all in with her role as Tatum. She wanted her character to be memorable and made several alterations to her character on her own. She even went out and bought her own wardrobe for her character as she didn’t feel that what costume design was giving her fit the character. She also made alterations to her bedroom set to make it more authentic to her role. Her motto was to make every moment count, so that when she was eventually killed off the movie would feel less fun without her.
Rose has also claimed that Craven created the best filmmaking experience of her career.

I didn't even realize Wes Craven was the janitor. That's great!

I grew up in Santa Rosa and Petaluma. I remember seeing Scream being made. It was a big deal. Petaluma Ca also had famous movies made there. American Graffiti, Cujo, Basic Instinct, Peggy Sue Got Married, Howard The Duck and many more and about 20 miles away in the town of Bodega, The Birds. It's a pretty famous area all the way around. It was a great place to grow up.

This movie and part 2 were huge in my high school. I remember kids wearing the Ghostface masks to football games. Randy and Stu were my favorite characters.

Kevin Williamson in peak form was pretty elite for the genre. Deserves more credit than he gets.

I can’t watch it anymore without thinking of Scary Movie. I mix the two movies up all the time in my memory because Scary Movie was so good at making fun of Scream and other horror movies. Both were good movies.

It's interesting that here Matthew Lillard as Stu is a villain who gets unmasked, while as Shaggy he's shown as a good guy who's part of a team that solves crimes by tearing off the masks
of perps.

I saw this opening night and I distinctly remember being taken aback by how quickly the movie started! Like 2 credits and then it was Drew getting gutted like a fish.

I live in Santa Rosa and its been mapped out a lot of the locations where Scream was filmed. The video store is now a Burger King. I drive by it often.
Love your videos, always entertaining.

Scream is the only horror movie that managed to scare me in real life. I lived in an 3 story apartment building that is attached to several similar buildings. My bedroom was in the attic so it had a window to the roof. A few days after I saw Scream, I was studying into the night in my room with no curtains. I feel something move and I looked into the window and I saw eyes looking at me. I was so scared.
It turned out that a neighbour just got a new cat and it liked to climb out the window and into the roof. In 25 years in that house, that was the only cat that did that and it's first time peeking through my window had to be at 2 am after I watched a horror movie...
