The Sequels should have brought in baddies from the Unknown Regions rather than bringing Palpatine back. The latter was such a lazy move and also destroyed Anakin's/Vader's arc.

The Unknown Regions are basically the Star Wars Galaxy's version of Australia.

I think Palpatine knew of some of these other threats. He was a tactical mastermind, but he must have known that even he couldn't strategize against the unknown ancient regions. Creatures older, and more terrifying than any Sith. He was consolidating power, building weapons capable of destroying planets. This wasn't just to defeat rebels, or a Jedi. This was to prepare for a threat beyond the light/dark side. It would be interesting to see a pretty scary threat like Palpatine discussing something far more sinister than himself.

They should make deep space horror movies about the unknown regions: one could be: A Jedi knight journeys through time to avoid the completion of ORDER 66 and save the Jedi order and for that he must embark on a trip to the Unkown Regions where he will find the ultimate horror of the Star Wars universe

Imagine a series:

Star Wars: Lost in the Unknown Regions.

And its a sith and a jedi whom were fighting messing up their ship amidst there fight so much they get lost in the deepest reaches of space, and get attacked by the outer beings and end up working together to survive, and develop a brotherhood from working together. It would be a fantastic horror series.

The contrast between the known Galaxy and the Unknown Regions parallels in more than one way our real-life knowledge of what walks the Earth, and what dwells in the darkest depths of the seas. We still have exploration to do in the oceans, and it seems the further we advance, the more terrifying the creatures we discover progressively become.

How sick would it be if there was a horror movie made where Vader with a squadron of stormtroopers gets ordered to investigate an Empire base on a planet bordering the unknown region is no longer responding or communicating with the rest of the Empire. Basically showing how Vader’s squadron gets picked apart by some of these crazy species from the unknown regions and how only Vader ultimately survives only to be told to cover it up by palpatine
