Hyperinflation is coming to Singapura.... Chicken is just first export to be banned... Others will

As Malaysian, I agree domestic demand comes first but, we need to be cognizant of the fact that the economics need to make sense. Ceiling price should be made higher maybe 20% higher so that poultry players can make money which at the end of the day, ensure more supply for everyone hence, can export to other countries. If ceiling price remains whilst cost go up, it will drive supply down even more!

haha, no chicken from malaysia, no problem, just import from other places, it's not like singaporean cant afford import chicken.. you are talking about a country with government done such a good job managing the country that their currency is almost as high as USD... meanwhile malaysian government is so incompetent that they ask their citizen to take out their retirement fund to help themselves from the current crisis...

Its a very complicated issue..it happens every year from april to august..there will ..and be ..shortages of chicken not to mention about the rising cost of feed too.

Grain shortage~ Less rice, less chicken, less... other grain-fed meat (beef, pork, kambing, duck, ), less egg, less bread, less ice cream, less cereal. It is time for our new master plan!

P.S. Question out of curiosity. Why do 'chicken rice stalls' (as in the style, not the meat) not have a fish variant? I've never seen a "Fish rice" variant of chicken rice before (like how there are duck rice, char siu rice, etc)

Should be a short term issue la. perhaps this would encourage the cultivation of BSF larvae as an alternative for chicken feed.

Chicken supply shortages in Malaysia cannot be resolved by a ban in export to Singapore. Unless, the Malaysia Government totally removes the price Cap on Chicken prices in Malaysia Market, the shortages would continue indefinitely or even get worse.

No problem now as Thailand promised to supply singapore

There is always frozen chicken. Reduce the consumption of chicken to calm the market.

Does this mean lower chicken price if things go back to normal and price stabilizes or lower operating cost in the future?

its not like 100% no chicken at all.. there are other sources.. if cannot buy from market A, buy from market B.. no need to make a big deal out of this..
