How close is too close? Would this be legal use of lethal force in defense of herself?

Working Shoot / No Shoot Scenarios to work Positive Threat Identification with this student, brand new to scenario training and revisiting the firearms skills she’d learned when she was young. She always comes to learn and apply herself for growth in every way. Training is the place to work that draw from concealment, work establishing a proper grip every time, and honing the ability to make solid decisions under stress. Grip was continued to be emphasized and worked, as were draw, and decision-making Everyone’s skills degrade under stress and it through training that we can all grow and solidify them. She will absolutely become proficient with continued work and time. Much respect to her for the work she’s putting in!

I like how the instructor didn’t tell her to do anything but only demonstrated why you might make such a decision

All jokes aside, props to her for training and developing the understanding and thought process. That’s what places like this are for

Keep in mind that’s including him holding back, if that bat was following through it would’ve come a LOT faster, she’d still be aiming at his toes by the first hit

She's asking questions in training, not live. Respect to her for trying to learn

He knew he was supposed to have been shot. He was just being polite enough to give her time to think.

As soon as the bat is up he’s going down screw the distance he ain’t stoping

Keep in mind that even in the swing the man is holding back to not actually hit her.
In a real life situation, the weapon would get there in even half the time

The fact she asked is at least admitting she doesn't know and is there to learn. I applaud this.

His head tilt when she says "So you think I should shoot him" was too funny. He was trying so hard not to tell her she's dead.

Youd be surprised how fast a crackhead holding a bloody piece of glass can move.

Ahh...

"Watch how close he can close this distance"

Perfect training.

He was HEAVILY slowing down and still could have had a heavy hit in by the same she shot.

I’m glad she’s doing training to understand. After this she will have a better understanding of distance, what a threat looks like, when to draw and also when to fire. Good on her for getting training

One of the several lessons i learned from the show Mythbusters is that if you bring a knife to a gun fight, as long as you're close enough to rush the person with a gun, you have a pretty damn good chance of winning

GREAT As a combat veteran and protector, this is great to see and I hope more folks out there get involved responsibly with protecting their loved ones, an innocent civilian, this nation, and themselves. Rock on!🇺🇸
