Henry VIII is one of the most famous kings in English history. He is renowned for his voracious appetites – for food, wine, power and women. During his 38 year reign he went through 6 wives and for them triggered seismic changes in the religious and political landscape of the nation. But who were the women for which this larger-than-life monarch’s passions ran hot and cold? And who were they before, and in some cases after their fates were in the hands of this fearsome King? Here are the stories of the six wives of Henry VIII.
Catherine of Aragon
Anne Boleyn
Jane Seymour
Anne of Cleves
Catherine Howard
Catherine Parr

Catherine of Aragon could have ruled the world if she had married a different king. Her parents were a world power

The way he threw Katherine away when she went into battle while pregnant and fought off an invasion, then delivered a trophy of their enemy to Henry as proof that the guy was fucking dead. Like, Henry was lucky to have her.

Also, when she served as Spain's ambassador, Henry VII expected her to be easily manipulated, but she was like 'lol no' and was his political match. She was made to be queen.

So, for some context for us to realize how old these womens were between each other when they married this sick man.
*Catherine of Aragon:*
- Married: age 24
- Divorced: age 47

*Anne Boleyn:*
- Married: age 32
- Beheaded: age 35

*Jane Seymour:*
- Married: age 28
- Died: age 29

*Anne of Cleves:*
- Married: age 25
- Divorced: age 25 (same year)

*Catherine Howard:*
- Married: age 17
- Beheaded: age 19

*Catherine Parr:*
- Married: age 31
- Survived: age 35 (Henry dies in 1547 leaving her widowed)

Howard age gives me chills down the spine honestly, poor young girl...

Oh all of Henry's wives, I felt sorry for Katherine the most (Anne of Clever close second). The woman did nothing short of what she was told to do, and died alone, broken hearted, and away from her daughter

I don't understand why Catherine of Aragon was not taught English. She was engaged around 4 or 5, so the knew way ahead of time. 🤦‍♀️

Catherine parr may have survived but it was short lived, Anne of cleeves came to be the most respected of his wives as she lived the longest and most wealthy. She also maintained a strong relationship with her step daughters.
