I was invited to a Triumph concert, not even knowing who they were, but after the concert, I can never forget, the energy that was left in me and the change it had brandished on my life were not yet understood. I fought the good fight and found God along the way and I can only wonder how different my life would have been without this one positive and uplifting message.

Been going through some struggles lately and this song came on the radio. Heard it hundreds of times growing up and always liked it, but never really listened. Then tonight when it came on as I was thinking about my new girlfriend and one of the lines just burst through my consciousness... "Take a look inside your heart. The answer's in your heart".

It made everything so clear that it struck me as a profound moment. I listened to the rest of the song and looked up the lyrics. As a Christian, I was amazed at how the lyrics complimented my faith.

Every time I hear this song it reminds me of my lifelong best friend that I lost to cancer 10 years ago. This song was our favorite song as kids in high school. When this song would play we would shake hands like Arnold and Dillon in our favorite movie Predator. The lyrics are extremely powerful, the vocals are excellent, and Triumph ROCKS! This song is something to listen to when you really need some strength and help to get through this thing we call life. It's basically a prayer in rock n roll!

The story behind this song is that Rik wrote this in response to his grandmother at the time fighting cancer. The other two band members in studio were perplexed with the lyrics and then making it work for a song. FTGF actually took a while with many drafts to the final song here from 1981.

Rik Emmet is a saint. Such inspirational words, and beautiful melodies. This song and The Lord gave me strength when I was 16 and my Mom was dying. (I played it for her, she got strength from it also), and throughout my life, so many times. Now here I am, 50, my bf just conquered his addiction with Ibogaine, and I'm praying it cures my crippling depression. And again, this song and The Lord STILL give me strength when I feel there's nothing left to hold on to. And thank you God for blessing us with Iboga Root!!!
