After the video ended, the screen was filled with links to videos from The Vancouver Carpenter, who has lots of excellent videos on fixing these kinds of things properly. Nice.

Drill a few small holes at the top middle and end of the crack. then fill and tape. the holes will stop future cracks in the same area.

Maybe to sand that area before adding tape and additional compound. Also to check to see if a few screws might make sense. Might also want to cover with a little primer before paint while you're at it.

For a fast repair before putting it up for sale, perfect

if it has been awhile since you painted the wall where the patched area is and you don't have any touch up paint you can have paint store mix up a pint to touch up or get a gallon and paint from corner to corner

Meanwhile the settlement crack in the wall goes unrepaired and worsens over the years. Good job Sherwin Williams for teaching people to just cover up problem and not actually fix it 👌

After her thin coat of spackle dried, it appeared that the fiber tape had disappeared. Where did it go? Is it visible to you, and I just can't see it? It all looks awful to me.

Ok so imma just stop it right at 26 seconds and tell you to pack your stuff and leave. V-NOTCH THE CRACKED LINE, CLEAN the cracked area. Use quickset compound(not the all purpose stuff) to lay your tape. Mud it up and float it. Wait and float it out again sanding in between. THEN you can add your all purpose(top coating) mud on that if you want, sand it, texture it.. DO NOT half ass it like this video

Lol...shrink free. Never saw a plaster shrink. Also, I'd suggest more coats and more tapering, if you can feel it, you'll see it.

If you have a crack in the plaster take some epoxy and mix it with a little saw dust and smear it in the crack then put some wood filler just in the crack this keeps the repair in the crack .

Caulk will be visible, but mud and tape will look perfect

I mistakenly punched on the dry wall and it had little crack but not that seriously, just 2.5cm of crack. What should I do now?... I don't want to tell my mom but it seems quite easy to paint it on.. What should I buy and how much will it cost..?

What happens if the paint doesn’t match original paint or the original paint is changing colors because left in closet for a long time?

Wow! You didn't fix the crack in the wall you just covered it. Do you really expect the tape to stay in place if it vibrates or moves?

You. Need to dig it out and fill it before taping it.

I would fire someone doing it like that. This is not the correct way to repair a stress crack.

Might want to dig that crack out first.
