Nobody has ever been this dominant in history of the sport. NOBODY.

His body started to be affected really after 3 or 4 seasons. Probably the most gifted player the world has ever known.

He's wearing the defenseman as a backpack in half these highlights. He was unbelievably strong.

Bruins fan he was great. I think back to the absolute terror I would feel watching Bruins vs Pens in the early 90's when Boston got a penalty. It was damn near impossible to stop that lethal Penguins Power Play.

Best Phenom the game ever seen. The guy was just so gifted, he saw the play 3 steps before it happened. There will NEVER be another Lemieux.

Gretzky is great because he had longevity and skill.
Lemieux is magnificent because to my eye test, nobody has come close to his skill, but didn't have the longevity.

Size, wheels hands and smarts. What a beast. And he could do it alone with guys hanging off his back. Most talented player to ever lace em up in my opinion

I will never forget seeing Mario play against the Wings at Joe Louis in the early 90s. It was the only time I saw him play live and was amazed that with all of the other very talented players on both sides, including many futur HOFs, he stood out as head and shoulders above the rest. Every shift he did things that made you shake your head. He can never be considered the greatest due to injury and illness that robbed him of too much of his career, but Mario at 100% is the peak performer in the history of the NHL for me.

The thing I will always remember about Lemieux was how he was always under control. He was never impatient with anything he did on the ice. He might have been the most "serene" player ever.

Towards the end of his career, Mario Lemieux was unable to tie his own skates because of his back problems, and yet he still managed to put a 50 plus goals without even finishing a season, the guy is are absolute legend

I'm a Gretzky fan. Full disclosure ....but I have to give it up. Mario best I ever saw by a long margin. Him an Orr are the GOATS to me.

4:48 - I was at that game. Mario had announced his (first) retirement and everyone knew the Pens were going to lose the series to the Flyers. So we all knew it was Mario's last home game. As time began to wind down, the crowd began chanting, "Mario, Mario, Mario." Then he picked up that puck and headed in alone. When he scored I thought the roof was going to blow off of the Igloo. Most exciting moment in sports I've ever witnessed.

As a flyers fan I think he’s best of all time. No doubt I don’t care about all the records the great one has!

Greatest forward in hockey history. It’s really not even close. It’s the 6-4 part and reach that really separates him. Best hands in hockey history with a smooth stride, mastery of angling and a monstrous frame. Plus a wicked twister.

I was in attendance at Lemieux’s 1st ever home game against those vaunted Vancouver Canucks lol. He even dropped the gloves in that game. My brother took me for my birthday present. One of the best presents ever. Thanks Big brother.

To this day, there has never been a player that has matched Lemieux's pure talent. His skating was flawless/perpetually 'poetic' on the ice, his stride was unmatchable, his stick reach was one of a kind, his goals were a thing of pure beauty, his shot was perfect. To me, Lemieux is the best pure, naturally talented goal-scorer in NHL history. Others have & will score more (ie. Gretzky, Jagr, Ovi) But no one will ever do it as effortlessly, beautifully, and perfectly as Mario did. He made opposing defenders look silly & hung goalies 'out to dry' multiple times per game and basically every time he touched the puck.

So strong on his skates. Growing up he was one of my favorites to watch.

That goal from 6:25-6:31 is one of the purest examples of clutch and grab. Today that play would have like 5 Penalties lmfao.Great job in the video too! Always love your stuff
