Announcing the release of Pink Floyd’s ‘The Dark Side Of The Moon’ as a deluxe box set to celebrate 50 years since the release of one of the best-selling albums of all time. Newly remastered, the box set will be released on 24th March 2023.

One of the most iconic and influential albums ever, Pink Floyd’s ‘The Dark Side Of The Moon’ continues to find new audiences globally. The album was partly developed during live performances, and the band premiered an early version of the suite at London’s Rainbow Theatre several months before recording began. ‘The Dark Side Of The Moon’ is the eighth studio album by Pink Floyd, originally released in the US on 1 March and then in the UK on 16th March 1973. The new material was recorded in 1972 and 1973 at EMI Studios (now Abbey Road studios) in London. The iconic sleeve, which depicts a prism spectrum, was designed by Storm Thorgerson of Hipgnosis and drawn by George Hardie. ‘The Dark Side Of The Moon’ has sold over 50 million copies worldwide.

The new deluxe box set includes CD and gatefold vinyl of the new 2023 remastered studio album and Blu-Ray + DVD audio featuring the original 5.1 mix and remastered stereo versions. When you’re baked: spiritual experience

When you’re sober: spiritual experience

Unfortunately, I have suffered brain damage, due to hydrocephalus (fluid in the brain), and this track is now my anthem. I am confined to a wheelchair, and will never be employable again, and I am only 62 years of age, though I remain profoundly thankful that this did not occur earlier in life, as it can and does to others. It took me so long to remember who the band was, as I have great trouble putting two and two together anymore.

I am totally BLOWN AWAY by the number of people in their teen years that appreciate this track and write about their thoughts. There is great hope for humanity!

Thank you very much for taking the time to read my comment. Oo roo 🦘.

A friend of mine wrote a few of these lyrics on a Facebook post. Some people commented in concern thinking she was writing out her actual thoughts. I simply commented "sounds like brain damage" and was instantly jumped by people insisting that I was being rude towards her and that I "obviously don't know anything about music because it's one of the most famous songs by pink Floyd called dark side of the moon". I just replied "no, I'm pretty sure it's brain damage" and left it like that.

The lunatic is on the grass
The lunatic is on the grass
Remembering games and daisy chains and laughs
Got to keep the loonies on the path
The lunatic is in the hall
The lunatics are in my hall
The paper holds their folded faces to the floor
And every day, the paperboy brings more
And if the dam breaks open many years too soon
And if there is no room upon the hill
And if your head explodes with dark forebodings too
I'll see you on the dark side of the moon
The lunatic is in my head
The lunatic is in my head
You raise the blade, you make the change
You rearrange me 'til I'm sane
You lock the door and throw away the key
And there's someone in my head, but it's not me
And if the cloud bursts thunder in your ear
You shout and no one seems to hear
And if the band you're in starts playing different tunes
I'll see you on the dark side of the moon

You're not supposed to have Brain Damage without Eclipse. It's just not done.

The word lunatic comes from the idea that the moon causes madness (luna from lunatic refers to lunar) and the album is called dark side if the moon. Its pretty clever.

48 years have got behind me since I first heard this album at age 16. It’s all gone by in the blink of an eye! SHEEESH! Where did it all go so FAST?!? The Sun is the same in a relative way but I’m older — shorter of breath, and about 17, 520 days closer to death!

I've listened to this album more times that I can remember. Over and over since the 80s. Still sounds amazing.

And if the cloud bursts thunder in your ear.
You shout but no one seems to hear.
And if the band you’re in starts playing diffrent tunes.
I’ll see you on The Dark Side Of The Moon.
