Why don’t you address Project 2025? What about a convicted felon as President?

Neither Party represents the full goodness of God.
Republicans may be good on restricting abortion, but are terrible on helping the poor and stranger in the land, as well as poor in stewarding the planet.
Each person has to prayerfully search his/her conscience and then prioritize what is most important at that time.

On voting for Trump versus Harris - I too am a one issue voter, just like you.

From listening to you, it appears abortion is the one issue for you (and maybe LGBTQ) - and so it seems that, no matter who it is - even if it is the most immoral one himself - if this person will give you the policy of ending abortion nationally or slowing the march of the LGBTQ movement - it seems to me that you are saying you’d vote for the person.

For me, my own one issue is not abortion but the preservation of democracy and our democratic institutions in America. Why is this important to me?

Because although I am today an American citizen - I wasn’t always one! I fled my own home country in Africa and came to the USA legally fleeing the devastation of dictatorial, authoritarian and anti-democratic governments. I lived the first 30 years of my life in such governments and have witnessed first hand the evil of such government! I did not run from authoritarian regime in Africa to come live under another authoritarian regime in America!

And to many of us who have lived under such conditions elsewhere, we observe with shock how vast numbers of Americans toy with authoritarianism - and we shake our heads knowing as the scriptures says “people perish because of ignorance”.

So yes - any candidate whose policy is to strengthen, and preserve our democratic way of life in the USA will always get my vote over and above another who has demonstrated constant willingness to not only ignore our democratic norms but actively tried to undermine them. Yes even if such a person is the immoral one himself - I will vote for them.

Because guess what - as long as the people have the power of democracy- the same people who voted that devil in, under a democracy, can also vote him out. But not so in an authoritarian regime. The authoritarian you vote in today to give you what you want is the authoritarian you will be unable to vote out tomorrow when he begins to work against your interest and good but only for his interests and the interests of his tribe, or group and acolytes.

But of course - that brings us to the question: who is the authoritarian leaning person between Trump and Harris?

Now that is a debate we can have as reasonable evangelicals who can always disagree.

Sadly, very few politicians have moral character today….

Amen! I agree. Thank you Dr. Brown for your bravery. To me it also comes down to pro-life vs. pro-choice.

Dr. Brown, when has a law for or against abortion ever caused a woman to abort her child? Even God allows us to choose so why legislate no choice? That's not freedom. God wants us to choose Him in our free will. Greed, lust and pride drives the sin. Character matters. Trump? Read Proverbs 6:16-19.

As a follower of Jesus Christ we have the Holy Spirit that speaks to us and leds us and guides us. I was not going to vote for Trump first time as I prayed sought Gods wisdom I was led to vote for Trump. As I released my vote I physically sensed a peace and joy. Doesn’t our Bible say his sheep hear his voice? 2nd time I voted for Trump I had this sense he was not going to win. I choose to be led by the Holy Spirit. Our family will be voting for Trump🇺🇸 he is better for governing our country. We are led by Gods peace.

Pray for God’s Wisdom on how to vote. He will give it gladly. You will have peace. No matter how strange His answer may seem, believe this…
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.
Ephesians 6:12

Some people are so simple minded. They don't understand that the legal system has been weaponized in many countries against the opposition.

I wouldn't vote on a party's policy on abortion. I would check the numbers. Didn't the abortion rates go up by 8 percent during the Trump/Pence administration than the Obama administration?

I feel like I’m choosing between 2 evils. Tired of voting for the lesser evil of the 2.

There are points of view that leadership on both sides have questionable behaviors.

In her book Strongmen: From Mussolini to the Present, Ruth Ben-Ghiat details some of the techniques authoritarians use to grow their power, such as propaganda, corruption, and violence. And she describes a common rhetorical tactic they employ — the promise to build a “Greater Nation.” In describing that Greater Nation they’ll invoke mythical themes of a better time in the past.

Since you bring up Slavery/Segregation is patently evil and a One-item voter issue....the republican right is connected to white supremacy which is an offshoot of Slavery, do you ignore that on the right?

Moral character does matter to God! So is the life of all people, whether they are in the womb or being shot dead in the streets!! Each perpetrator is committing sin that through the grace of God can and has been repented of by some, thank God!! My question to Dr. Brown and your audience. Can we legislate morality? If so, why do we not have laws to PREVENT people from committing fornication, adultery, lying, stealing, etc, etc, etc....!!! There are consequences to all sins, whether seen or not seen. But yet for some reason the only ones that seem to be the most important to Christans, which some, not all, are guilty of, is homosexuality and abortion!! Both are sins according to the bible. But are also committed by human beings whom God loves and died for their sins. Many homosexuals are no longer committing that sin! Why, because they became believers in Christ!! Many women who have aborted a child, repented 😢 and would never do it again because of their relationship with Christ!!😊 No law could have done that!! It is utterly shameful that Christians would ignore the wickedness of a leader whose only concern is himself, and allow him to rule over such a great country as America!!! Shame on you and all other Christians that agree with you on this issue!!! The mandate we have as believers is to preach the gospel which changes hearts 💕 and delivers people from all types of sins and has made lives so much better for everyone!! It is so sad what you are teaching!

What is Jim Ball’s church affiliation? That could reveal something. I doubt he just woke up one morning and decided evangelicals should support this liberal candidate. But, I could be wrong.
