The stock props came off on mine. I have a buttload of props from my DJI Tello props. I put them on recently and the Ultrix flies like a champ.

Jeff, thanks for sharing me info and the links. Thanks to you, I just bought 800mah batteries instead of the 500mah. .. Oh, and I upgraded to your props too.

Looking forward to more Ultrix vids, especially if you are adding fpv(which I plan on doing), crossfire, or GPS return (which would be awesome). Or anything to do with Jumper T16.

I just made my own 105% (14.25"ws) Ultrix from 1.3 lb EPP and it's about 68 grams AUW, with FPV.

I mistakenly got the 1.5mm shaft Gemfan props but I was able to make them work.

I just flew it with my little 6.5 gram AIO FPV camera, but my old 600mAh batteries are too weak.

I'm getting the 800mAh Tattus, thanks for the suggestion. I had been contemplating those ones, it should be about 74 grams AUW with them.

If you have an unlucky landing where a prop touches the ground in the vertical position it will bend the shaft, even on grass/earth - that's what happened to mine. Now I always use the supplied metal wire skeg at the front

Get ya some tape and tape up the nose for you fly it, cause the first wippest crash tares it off..but I love the machine! I normally fly helicopters and thought I'd change it up a bit. It's very fast...the only I don't like is it still tries to self level in mode 3...but alot of things are like that ..even some new helicopters

I measured the motor shaft and it is a 1mm, race day quads do not have any props that size up to 64mm

hi jeff, I bought a umx ultrix last month and I also upgraded my radio from dx6i to a TX16s max. Wow a fun learning curve for OpenTx. I been watching all sorts of opentx videos on youtube. Do you have any opentx settings to help me get started?

Are those props counter rotating like the ones that came with the plane? It dosn't say that on the web site.

Nice to see Eflite finally dragged kicking and screaming out of the dark ages of crappy Styrofoam (EPS) frames and into the 21st century. No doubt the success of things like the XK X520 V-tol and the Volantex V761 series mini planes has finally inspired this epiphany.

That said this really is a nice sporty little toy with a lot going for it. The size, power to weight ratio, switchable modes, cheap and cheerful batteries and acrobatic capabilities make it a winner. Pity it's mired in Spectrum with no receiver expansion port for those of us of other persuasions but no doubt it won't be long before the clone makers correct that. ;-)
