Zhang Yiming, the co-founder of ByteDance, the parent company of social media platform TikTok, has become China's richest man. His position has been seen in a top rich list published by Hurun Research Institute.

According to Hurun Research Institute, Zhang Yiming's current net worth is $4,930 million. Which is 43 percent more than 2023.

In 2021, Zhang, 41, stepped down from the company's oversight role. However, he has 20 percent ownership in the company.

Despite pressure from the US, ByteDance's international dividend grew 60 percent last year. And through it Zhang Imming's own fortunes also changed.

Hurun Research Institute head Rupert Hoogwerf said, 'In just 26 years, Zhang Yiming is the 18th person to be named in the list of the top richest people in China. Compared to that, there are only four such people in the United States. They are Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk.
