If you think about it, Vine is basically the old grandfather of TikTok.

Tiktok AI is the most valuable part of the app. That's why China banned sale of the the AI.

FYI: Musically, the company trending in North America before Tiktok and bought by the latter, was also an international company founded by Chinese in Shanghai.

TikTok huh, pretty cool idea, think I'll start my own app like this, and I'll call it 'musically' any thoughts?

YouTube doesn't want you to read this quote.

"The conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in democratic society. Those who manipulate this unseen mechanism of society constitute an invisible government which is the true ruling power of our country. ...We are governed, our minds are molded, our tastes formed, our ideas suggested, largely by men we have never heard of." - Edward Barnays, Author Propaganda

If you get triggered reading this quote, I suggest looking in the mirror because you are the problem.

Don't all apps collect data. The data that tik tok collects is no different from Facebook, Google and others
Sounds like they are more worried about how effective the TikTok AI is

Judging by the interface and how videos scrolled and randomly queue in Tiktok i can definitely say it is addictive despite i never even use it, i can hardly remember any other app that has that UI, apart from Vine maybe

I just don’t understand why make a big deal of banning TikTok in the US? China banned almost ALL apps from the west, so do you think this is fair? Why do countries even listen to China when they don’t even bother the international fair trade law?

How much did they pay you to advertise it? (Good or bad, all publicity helps them!)

Some people might say China banned Google/Facebook etc. Fact is they refused to comply with basically the Chinese version of GDPR (Chinese user data must be stored within boarder and only Chinese citizens can have access to it, etc) and ceased their operations in China, naively thinking they can bypass that by redirecting users to foreign servers. But China then restricted access to their servers outside China. Apple and Microsoft were willing to put their servers in China and do all the paperwork, their operations are going just fine.
