If you ever get stuck in snow and need traction, you can stick your floor mats under the tire. I hope this helps anyone in the future

Plus a decent first-aid kit, but all excellent suggestions.

Keep a blanket in the trunk in case your vehicle dies in the winter and you have to wait for a tow truck.

I would suggest adding road flares or marker lights just in case if you break down at night.

I would add, a reflective vest and flares in case of a wreck or breakdown, a roll of paper towels and a first aid kit with trauma bandages and at least one tourniquet. Bandaids in a first aid kit are of no use on serious injuries, you could save the life of a loved one.

Tire plug kit and a 12v air compressor are better than fix a flat depending on the damage. I also carry way more tools than the average person at all times

As a lifelong tire man I strongly disagree with the “fix a flat” thing it’s a waste of 10$ as well as a mess. Invest in a portable air compressor and a plug kit.

A lighter in an emergency could save lives. In some situations you could freeze before you dehydrate.

I've always thought that jumper cables should come standard in every car

If you use fixaflat, tell the guy fixing your tire. The tire will blow when he breaks it down. It can cause a lot of damage so please tell them

Great advice. I also keep a high visibility vest for when I need to change my tire.
For my pup I Always keep extra dog food, water bowl, extra harness/vest, leash and glow sticks incase I have to make a quick collar so he’s more visible. Sits right next to my emergency bag in my truck lol

Before you put all that stuff in a pack, practice using it. ALL of it.

Good list. One thing I’d advise not to is the fix a flat. It can mess up your TPMS sensors, and tire shops have a hard time cleaning it out if the rim and it makes a mess.

Rather, the tire plug kit works great and stores real easy and is easy to fix. You can then take it to a shop later and have them fix it. Just know you can’t repair sidewalls or shoulders of tires. Or at least if you do, drive super, super slow to a station.

I would add a foam board for gardening for muddy times or bad knees so you protect yourself also in snowy weather when the worst often happens, then it will protect you even more from the elements so you don’t get frostbite on your knees

I also recommend a quality pair of vice grips👍

Utility knife, metric sockets (if you own a euro car), duct tape, knee pads are also good to have
