Dermaplaning is a really popular step in skincare routines lately! You use a tool such as an eyebrow razor to "shave your face" to remove any unwanted peach fuzz and exfoliate your skin. But you have to do it the right way to get the benefits and avoid any bad side effects. That's why I put together this step-by-step guide on dermaplaning, plus a skincare routine to follow it up with.

I'm Japanese. It's been less popular among young people, but many women used to use this method in Japan. My mum used to ask if I shaved my face hair quite frequently when I was a teenager LOL. She even allowed me to go and get shaved in a barber shop with professional razor and cream when I was very little like 7 years old and I absolutely loved it! I felt like an adult and pretty! The barber knew what he was doing. I think it cost like 10 dollars 25 years ago. I might try it again when I'm back in Japan. Thanks Susan for reminding me of the sweet memory :)

I didn't even know women did this. You gals go to so much effort to look and feel nice. Guys really should appreciate, and make some extra effort aswell. Ha

I started doing this about a year ago, when the baby fuzz on my upper lip started to become a little more prominent as I get older. It’s still blonde but it’s noticeable when I put makeup or tinted moisturizer on. I tried waxing but. It was too irritating for me. I was super nervous at first, but it’s really not as intimidating as it looks! I do it every 6-8 weeks as well, and unlike people think it does not come back thicker! Thank you for sharing your routine Susan! 🤗

I do this every week. My acne scars are gone. They don’t even last a month. Fresh blade will take off the hair and a light layer of dead skin. My face is soft as a baby’s butt afterwards! One of my best finds. I use a regular ol Tinkel type razor. But be careful. I’ve nicked my face. It burns and hurts like an ankle nick. Lol.

Both my mother and I do this and it makes ALL the difference! It does not grow back “thicker” or “darker” of even pokey actually.

Love that she uses her own products! It makes me trust brands more like that when the creator uses them too. Just bought the other vitamin c serum and very excited to use it!

Sooo... I was dermaplaining with one of those long razors that fold into itself about 2 weeks ago. I was getting around my hair line bc it comes down kinda low. Well I wasn't paying attention to where the end was and shaved off everything below the arch of my eyebrow. I've been having to draw in my eyebrow since. It's starting to grow back. Thank God!

Yes to this! I’ve always wanted to do this but every expert says not to do it at home but I see awesome results and I don’t feel like paying someone to shave my face 😑

Just followed this & my skin is GLOWING!! Definitely minimal pressure is needed, I use to do this years ago & didn’t know the importance of going light handed & I would tear my skin up! :( going light handed even worked great on my reactive skin

I’ve been considering dermaplaning for a while. Now that I know Susan is doing it? Decision made.

Thanks for the video. I really love the way product feels on my skin when the fluff is gone. My foundation also goes on better without the fluff. Just a little word of advice that I'm sure that you've all heard before, please use upward strokes/massage when putting products onto your skin. Massage upwards because as you age, gravity isn't our friend. You will do everything you can to 'push' your skin upwards ... You don't notice it when you are still young and beautiful, but I'm almost 70 and I'm aware of what gravity does to older skin. While you're enjoying applying your skin care products, please remember to apply them in upwards motions. I also give my skin a good massage whilst applying my serums just to wake my skin up and get the blood flowing. The earlier you start doing this, the longer your skin will remain young. After all, if you are spending the time and money on your skin, it won't cost you anything to massage upwards. Just take an extra one or two minutes giving your skin a good wake-up massage.
I also recommend putting any product left on the palms on your hands onto the back of your hands. I wish I'd been told that when I was young, as opposed to discovering it the hard way in my 50's. Our faces may not show our age, but if you look at the backs of the hands of older ladies hands, they may just tell you her actual age.

As a sensitive skin person the seshiedo one is way too harsh for my skin.
I use my gentle foam cleanser and foam it up on my face and use the tinkle eyebrow/face razor and go upwards instead of downward like susan did.

Doing it on dry skin causes irritation for me
And when its wet with foam it creates a slip
If I go downward the hair removal isnt as effective.
So I go upwards.
Be careful y'all

I always thought it was so funny that people really believe that when you shave your hair grows back darker and thicker. I wish! Everyone with thinning hair would start shaving their heads to get back fuller hair
