Which pump do you think is the best???

My baby daughter was diagnosed with T1D at 18 months old and that literally changed my life, learning more about the disease it was clear that going on the pump and cgm was the best option for her “new norm” we started with the ominipod dash, it wasn’t good but at Least she didn’t need multiple shots Throughout the day. Now she is on the ominipod 5, what a difference! Close loop and Tubeless! The perfect combination that allows now a 2 years old to be just that! Would recommend omnipod 5 and dexcom 100 times over to any T1D who wants to live somehow a “normal” life. No one believes that my daughter has T1D it is how healthy she is, those devices is making a huge difference in our lives and in her development as well.

I’ve been using the Minimed 780G for a while now with the GL3 sensor, and can confirm (on my behalf) that the safety module is working really good. The predictions the pump makes in how much it reduces my bolus is very accurate. I feel safe setting a bolus even when my blood sugar levels are low to compensate for the excess carbs I’m eating, and I rarely have a pendulum effect afterwards. The combo I have now made my glucose values go to 83% within the recommended values on a daily basis. I had a really bad regulation before, so I’ve entered a new world of treatment, and cannot praise the Minimed 780G enough. Inserting my first G4 sensor today. Really happy about that.

Thank you so much for this video! I'm 30 years old and I've only been diabetic 6 months and after dropping 70lbs in that time (trying to follow the diet and went DKA twice) did they figure out I'm actually type 1 instead of type 2. 😅 So now I'm looking down the barrel at getting a pump. This video has made me much more confident in my decision and a lot less anxious about having one in the first place. Thank you again!

The safety module on Medtronic is a great idea in theory but it often results in high glucose levels fir a longer period of time.

I would love to go on a pump. But sadly I don't wanna pay 8, 000 to 9, 000 for a pump. Or pay it off for 4 years. Plus the supplies. Right now my freestyle libra 2 is doing me justice. I love your videos!! Keep up the good work!!

Actually deciding between all of these, so amazing watch especially with brolls backing up alot that you said, since I'm pretty clueless about pumps and new viewer. Amazing video, keep it up!

I’m 28. I’ve been a T1D since age three. I’ve been using a Medtronic pump since 2001. I’ve been good at keeping my numbers in check. Last a1c was a 6.0. However, I can’t put into words how poorly the quality of Medtronic pumps have become. The guardian sensor would regularly be 50-100 points off despite regular calibrations. This is especially dangerous when your basal rates are set to what the sensor thinks your blood sugar is. Next week I make the switch to omnipod 5.

I went on the tslim earlier this year (first pump ever) and have just switched to omnipod 5 for insurance coverage reasons. First impressions? I *love* not having cords to tangle or get in the way. Having had the dexcom for a couple years, I am used to and comfortable with patches. As far as the app, the tconnect from tandem is far superior. The information is displayed better and you don't have to tap through multiple screens to find the information you seek. It is more intuitive. If they could pair the tconnect app with a tubeless system like omnipod that allows you to set insulin duration and target glucose levels, it would be incredible. I am sure that will be the way of the future.

hi just some advice from someone who's been using the medtronic minimed for a little while, if you're not prepared to constantly be catering and checking glucose to calibrate and remain in auto mode, it's not worth it. I've spent years at this point trying to get the minimed to work with me and not beep as often as it does and i'll admit auto mode has saved me a few times in my sleep but the constant need for calibration, the constant sensor updates and constantly being kicked out of auto mode makes it super difficult especially when i was a highschool athlete and the same can be said now that i'm a college athlete. But to each their own!

I am so conflicted. I am on the 780 G. My A1c is 6.7. I am mostly happy with the system, but there are sensor shortages and supply issues. I’ve also had more issues with the G4 sensors than the old G3 sensors. They are more finicky, and I have had more updating issues and failures with the G4. Nothing has changed as far as taping method, location, activity, Etc. I cannot be without a CGM because I have hypoglycemia and awareness. I am considering switching to the Tandem/Dexcom combo, but I am a little disheartened to hear that it only does a correction bolus once per hour, and only under certain circumstances. My 780 G gives me quite a few corrections per hour. Every five minutes if needed. I have dawn phenomenon and be corrections are very helpful in the morning. I am trying a Dexcom sample right now and so far, I love it. I’m just not sure what to do. Any advice?

Omnipod 5 and Dexcom G6 is working great for me. Around 90% in range time and it takes about 5 minutes to change out my Omnipod.

Very helpful video. I had a 630G with Medtronic sensors, then had to change to Dexcom. I had no idea a sensor could be so good! Now my pump selection is being driven by the sensor.
I am looking for YT videos of those who have gone from Tandem or Omnipod to Medtronic and cannot find any.
The videos I have found are Medtronic defectors who have gone to alternatives. Interesting.

The reason I'm switching from Medtronic 670g to T:slim x2 IS that the Tandem doesn't have the "learning feature".
I've used the "auto modus" (Dutch name no clue what it is in English really) for a full year or 1.5 years when I got my pump 3.5 years ago and it was hell.
Low sugars a lot, having to calibrate the medtronic sensor at 4am despite knowing how to calibrate it correctly so I shouldn't have to, being thrown out of the modus often due to the low sugars and the learning system messing up bc of it, resulting in having to wait 24h-48h before turning it on again.

I decided to switch back to the dexcom g6 sensor after those 1 to 1.5 years, and have been happier than ever. And now, I'm ALMOST there with my pump-contract.
This October I'm finally free of my brick-of-cememnt-on-my-body. I've honestly been close to going back to insulin-pen the past few months as this pump just isn't doing it for me.

But one of my sibling's friends has t1d since 2 years or so now too, and he is so happy with the newest Medtronic
So it really is super personal❤

Most informative video I could find comparing the three, thank you so much! I have been with Medtronic for 16 years but deciding which direction to go for an upgrade.

Thank you for the great video and the easy to follow comparisons, I am going to my specialist in 5 days to get fitted and educated with the pump of my choice. I did my research too and the Omnipod 5 works best for me . thank you

My daughter has been on Medtronic pumps for about the last 7 years. We tried their enlite and guardian sensors and had nothing but issues. Medtronic replaced sensors, replaced transmitters, replaced pumps(that one I paid for) and nothing fixed it. We just switched to Dex G6 3 months ago and it’s 180° difference! Dexcom hands down. Now we are looking at switching to either Omni5 or Tslim next year once our warranty period is up and insurance covers it.

Was a die hard Medtronic fan until we tried to use their CGM. IMO They just haven’t kept up technologically and algorithmically.

Medtronic 780G with the Guardian 4 CGM is by far the best total solution on the market. Auto Basel and Bolus no need for profiles or patterns this system works in real time to manage and auto adjust your insulin to control your Diabetes. All you do is enter meal carbs. Closest thing to an artificial pancreas. I have been on it for over 12 months and for the last 12 months maintained an HbA1c of 39mmols checked every 3 months. Type 1 for 40 years.

I'm thinking about switching from the tandem t-slim x 2 to the Omnipod 5 and use u200 insulin to make it last 3 days. My endocrinologist is totally on board with this.
