How to QUICKLY and EASILY Install a Kwikset Smartcode Deadbolt

Want to add some smart security to your front door? In this video we show you how to quickly and easily install a Kwikset Smartcode 913 Deadbolt. This lock is BHMA Grade 2 Certified, is UL Certified, has an alarm that sounds after 3 consecutive incorrect codes are entered, has a tamper resistant interior cover, 16 customizable access codes for increased security, a backlit keypad, and one touch locking. How to REKEY your lock (if you want to use old keys with your new Kwikset Smartcode Deadbolt):
Step 1 - Open the door and position the deadbolt in the locked position. The deadbolt should be sticking out of the door.
Step 2 - Insert the default key that came with your new Kwikset lock. Rotate 90 degrees clockwise.
Step 3 - Insert the SmartKey tool fully and firmly into the SmartKey hole. (The tool may click inside the lock). Remove the SmartKey tool first and then remove the key without rotating.
Step 4 - Insert the key you'd like to switch to and make sure the key is fully inserted. Without pushing or pulling the key, rotate it 180 degrees counter-clockwise. Rotate it back 180 degrees clockwise and pull gently to make sure it will not come out in this position. Rotate the key 90 degrees counter-clockwise and remove it from the lock. You have successfully re-keyed your lock!

The cord is too long and it causes it to stick when turning. Big issue!

What is the next step if the lock doesn’t retract after holding the lock button and while inserting the battery pack?

I was wanting to put these on a rental unit to avoid changing locks every time. If they know the pass code to unlock it does that give them access to program a new code?

I have done the handing thing a million times and it still clicks. When I turn with key or interior lock knob it turns smooth. But when it turns from app or keypad it clicks. Any suggestions?

Mine doesn't completely jamed does not turn its lights from key numbers I only have to use the key to open and close..put new batteries on and nothing saw if the small buttons on back were somehow wrong but everything is fine disappointed at this product after a year.i also have the fingerprint one in front of my house .now that one is awesome $179 but awesome now when grandkids stop by they just use their finger prints to open

I changed it to another door and now it does not turn the correct way and makes clicking noises. On the first door, it turned to the left and worked fine. On the second door it needs to turn to the right to lock but it does not, clicking noises instead.
