Step inside the Pitch Meeting that led to Red One!

No, it’s not a sequel to Red Notice (also starring Dwayne Johnson) it’s a 250 million dollar budget Christmas movie about Santa Claus being kidnapped which is the perfect film for its target audience of… somebody. Not entirely sure who this movie is for or why is costs so much to make, but one thing is for sure… it exists.

It's so nice of Hollywood to keep making movies for Pitch Meeting

Forgetting a new movie came out until you see the pitch meeting on YouTube is tight!

Anyone else find it kind of heartwarming that no matter how many times Producer Guy already has been disappointed, bankrupted or weirded out by Screenwriter Guy, he still greets him with a smile on his face and full of enhusiasm for his next project?

"Filming ran into issues with Johnson, who was an average of seven to eight hours late to film his scenes and missed several days of shooting. These delays reportedly increased the budget by $50 million to a total of $250 million. Johnson later admitted to frequent tardiness as well as urinating in bottles on set"
I'll be damned

Thank you for acknowledging that Dwayne Johnson doesn’t act- he just puts himself in character clothes with character names, but he’s always just Dwayne.

The screenwriter of this did actually write seven of the Fast and Furious movies. Good reference Ryan

'and he'll stop aiming for the water bottles' was pretty damn good

Ryan George is such a cool guy for not only sitting through all of these movies but staying alert enough to make some sort of sense out of whatever plot is there then also tying it to a screen rant article about it.

One of my friends wanted to see this movie, and since she's sad and going through a divorce I said I'd go with her. At the end I thought, maybe there will be a pitch meeting for this. Thank you Ryan, you made watching it worthwhile.

This is the most Netflix movie I've yet encountered. Big names, big budget, "Red" in the title, action scenes, a story, a script, and an overwhelming sense of "well, that's a couple of hours I'll never get back".

3:51 "That is why this is in here." Your soulless delivery of that line deserves some kind of major award.

With that super long pause until the last wow, I just realized that Ryan could make millions of followers freak out and lose our minds just by leaving the last wow out... that's a dangerous power to have I've decided.

It seems like the time in between producer guy’s “wows” get longer and longer each time. Soon it’s going to be 10% pitch meeting, 90% pause between wows

I distinctly remember seeing the poster and thinking “oh, I’m looking forward to that. I’m sure it will be a great pitch meeting!”

Dwayne Johnson is not only a fan of jungles, but also of the colour red.

A dramatic pause during "wows" is tight

The Rock is entering his “lived long enough to become a villain” phase..

Your editing skills regarding comedic timing are on point. People need to appreciate the invisible work that makes these jokes land so hard! Listen to the "wow, wow, wow... wow." The next line almost starts on top of the last wow. That long pause let's the joke have the space it needs and then BAM on to the next line to bring back momentum after that long pause. The jokes are great, but the editing takes them to the next level. Respect.
