Kristy McMullan, who travels from Cairns to Western Australia each year in search of amethyst, shared on social media that this is “by far” the largest discovery she and her partner, Patrick, have ever made.

Kristy told Yahoo News Australia that “finding crystals of this size is quite rare especially here in Australia,” adding: “This crystal weighs 4kg which is one of the biggest single points we have found and is valued at $3,500.”
