Tip #1: Do not pick Selena as a Mage. Selena is best at roamer. She is extremely bad at clearing lanes this is why seldom see Selena as Mage around games in. You need to be able to clear lanes fast so you have time to help your team mates around the map + Selena is more efficient in her arrows. (0:01)

Tip #2: Don't be lazy when using Selena. Always put 2 traps in the early game, it helps your jungler farm faster so they can rotate to lanes faster. (0:22)

Tip #3: Always think ahead of all your other teammates. Look at them invading red buff, so you can set traps based on your anticipations on where enemies will come from. I placed a trap there so if enemies were to come, they will surely step on the trap first. This is important as it breaks their momentum.

By thinking ahead of your team mates means, you set up your arrows for fight, & provide the best assistance you can. (0:42)

Tip #4: Constant roaming around providing nuisance to enemies. This keeps them paranoid of arrows incoming at anytime. (1:30)

Tip #5: Place traps on places where enemies like to walk across. (examples showin red boxes) (1:59)

Tip #6: Try to shoot your arrows thru obstacles/rocks like this, by doing this will reduce your enemy's alertness to your arrows. (higher hit rate) Saw how short the reaction time Cecilion has? It's very hard to always stay alert to arrows like this. (2:11)

Tip #7: Focus & plant traps on enemy's jungler during turtle contests. By doing so, it makes them have a death fear due to selena's final damage. (3:05)

Tip #8: Make it a habit to switch forms actively so you'll always have ready arrows to fire.

If knowing you can't kill that tanky thing, don't bother trying, send them an arrow and buzz off (4:09)

Tip #9: Do not lose focus on your team mates. Keep your eyes on the map & anticipate enemies movements for your arrows (4:38)

As you can see im always switching forms actively preparing arrows. To be a good selena, you have to be very very aware of everything (6:26)

Tip #10: Do not force engage & die for kills unless necessary in Lord Contests. (The above is not worthy to die for.) (6:57)

By annoying them like this, they'll lose focus on other objectives but instead they'll focus on your arrows instead. (7:37)

Johnson just drove past which means they'll come back again. Stay alert especially low mobility heroes like xavier... (8:03)

Tip #11: Do not give up your games even if you get wiped out. (comeback chance is high for selena games!) (8:30)

Tip #12: Anticipate & Predict enemies movements during lord Contest (these are their favourite movements so set traps on it.) (10:09)

Look at these traps & grock's pressure totally force them out of zone (10:33)

Tip #13: Try not to panic in situations like this. Quickly find back your position and switch forms, prepare to fire your arrows. Focus! (11:00)

Tip #14: When enemies are missing on the map, keep setting traps everywhere possible. (max is 3 traps allowed) (12:01)

Tip #15: Stay away from exposing yourself on the map. This way, your arrows will be full of surprises.

If you're not sure how to avoid showing your location on the map, basically just don't walk on open lanes. (12:16)

Get ready to put traps on enemy's potential trace to lord. (12:57)

Tip #16: Remember that more sticky the situation is, the more advantage you have. (bcos its so messy & they lose focus on your arrows)

Focus on shooting constantly to disrupt their fights. (13:30)

Look at how busy they are. Just keep shooting! *(you don't have to bother on kills unless its really worth it) (14:42)

Tip #17: When your arrow hit rate drops, find another new angle. (15:10)

Tip #18: Don't stop your momentum when playing this hero. Its tiring to keep switching forms & multi task but well, its worth it! (16:12)

Tip #19: Don't lock the tank during this situations like this. Find enemy's squishy heroes bcos a johnson Lord steal rate is as close to 1% (16:28)

Final Tip: Do not lose focus! Always stay clear on your objectives. Getting that Cecilion is what we want. (17:41)

I've always used Selena as the jungle assassin and if not, just a support mage. I never knew Selena's not meant to be played as mage because I've been doing it for my whole life playing as Selena. What i really like about selena her uniqueness, you don't play her like other heroes in the game . I mean you can always play safe becauze u send ur arrow from afar hit and kill and run and u can always assess the situation, dont have to feed the ennemies and is an excellenrt support with her traps . But the issue is she can't solo carry if your teammates constantly feed and dont help u, she was most picked in m3 becUse of her team utility . Awesome tutorial also as always🔥

I like her as mage, in certain situations, even though her wave clearing sucks it's easier to carry the match and you can still do most things that a Selena roamer does.
Your team might not like you as much (especially the roamer) but the the enemies will hate you a lot more.
And you won't need a more resistent fighter

She was a priority ban back then when maybe her damage was buffed or her traps were timeless and u could place them on walls to give vision on the area for the whole game, i'm not sure what happened back then
