With Black History Month here and the Super Bowl less than two weeks away, we take a look at the long road it took for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day in Arizona, a road that cost the Valley its first opportunity to host a Super Bowl in 1993. In 1983, President Ronald Reagan signed into law a national holiday honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., but it would be 10 more years until Arizona officially honored it.
