Shed Ramp on a Slope-Made Easy

Great job. You are one of the few that explains the steps of how you accomplished certain steps like the angles of the 2 by and digging out the ground for level. So many just show themselves building a ramp with no explanation, there is no learning from them which makes them worthless for learning.

I know this is an old video, but for a nice touch, i ripped 3/4" high rip by 1 1/2" wide from my left over 2x4s and screwed them to the edge of the ramp for a roll off or bumper guard, it really does put a nice final touch to it, nice job, did mine the same way.

Really appreciate your slow and specific explanations of what to use and how you went about it. I wish I could have seen how you came to get the angle for the end of the ramp as that was what really was the hardest part (aside of finally figuring out myself about the angle at the top of the ramp) but after figuring it all out if I had just watched yours first it would have been so much easier. Thank you so much for explaning the size of the lags and screws etc. and not assuming we all know how to do this. My hardest part was the very top where I needed to make an angle for entering the shed but it worked out because my fence board I happened to use had a slight angle so it worked out perfectly.

I've got a similar yard set up. Ramp needs to go on an uneven surface. I've got about a 5.5 inch difference. I'm going to use your suggestion. Thanks!

In order to determine the angle where the stringer meets the shed I laid the stringer board out like I was going to mount it with one end laying on the paver stone and the end that meets the shed sitting in the entry way on top of where it would be mounted. I then took a level or any straight edge and put it against the shed where I was going to mount the stringer, and had it overlap the stringer and the ledge at the same time and used that straight edge to draw the line I needed to cut on my stringer. I hope that made sense...

You mentioned cutting the angle. But how did you get the angle?

Thanks for this. I just had a shed delivered and it's high enough in the front that I can barely climb up into it. I was wondering how to deal with it and I like the way you used the blocks to handle the ground contact.

Quick question first deck board when laid on Stringers what happens with contact to ledger since it's level and stringers are at an angle? Does ledger need to be angled as well? Thanks for sharing.

It looks like your shed has a metal foundation. Did you attach the ledger to the metal with the lag screws? Or is it attached to the 2x4 you mention Med in the beginning of the video? I’m asking because I also have a metal foundation.
