LED's are too white at 6500K - far too white for safe night driving IMO as they impact your eyes night vision causing your pupils to contract and your rod cells to depolarize, compromising your night vision, especially your peripheral vision - 4000-5000k is where they should be. Funny enough bulb & vehicle manufacturers used to know this which is why cars used to have quite yellow headlamps - they are actually safer - but over the years white and even blue spectrum became popular and the science went out the window in favor of fashion and false perception that closer to daylight = safer. Now you get blinded by oncoming vehicles with 6000K+ headlamps so you have no choice but to combat your loss of night vision by increasing the brightness and whiteness of your own beams so your cone cells can get enough light to see, your peripheral vision is pretty much gone regardless and you are driving in a light tunnel - it has become an arms race with no actual improvement in safety - simply because people don't understand physics and biology.

Putting LEDs in conventional reflector housings is a bad idea. The light will scatter everywhere blinding oncoming traffic.

Hello Scotty, maybe you can make a video about adding stronger reverse light to a car? Most cars reverse light is mainly sygnalyzing that you reverse, than iluminating dark road behind you.

Love your videos Scotty. I think you also forgot to mention that LEDs last MUCH longer than traditional halogen bulbs, useful for replacing for brightness and longevity

In europe is banned to put led or xenon headlights in normal halogen lights because blinds the traffic . To have xenon hradlights or led you need ti have washer headlights and auto leveling. If you don't have that in europe you get a pretty big ticket and your registration is taken. Cheers

Scotty, pardon the first person, but I think of you as my kind of person, we could use someone like you in Greece, as we get ripped off by mechanics every single day !

It's all fine and dandy, but what about blinding ongoing traffic and melting the snow in winter?

LEDs also resist vibration much better, I’ve been running LEDs for highs, lows, fog lamps, tag lamps, backup lamps for about two years now and I have NOT had to replace one yet. Soon I’ll be doing all of my interior dome, vanity, map and cargos. Not sure about the tails and turn signals, I really just like the pure white light and visibility, longevity is just a bonus with LEDs and they’re easier on the battery and alternator too.
