I just can't believe this is free education. I just can't. And I'm very grateful. 3+ years of art and design school but I'm getting more value in this channel in less time and for FREE. THANK YOU.

Real simple:
Art doesn't answer any questions. Actually, it opens the floor for questions.
Design solves problems.

Artist - People listen to you and your expressions
Design - You listen and provide solution

I don't think many people notice how Chris stood for hours and he just kept sharing more and more value. Damn! Thanks a lot man. Credit to you, the camera man and every other person making this happen

The world without design is gonna be troublesome but the world without art is like when you say you love someone but you can’t feel it. Btw, thanks for this Chris! So much love from 🇮🇩

When Chris asked "How was it" - if I was in the audience I would have given a standing ovation, how are these students so chill??

The designer has a concrete role, the artist has a subtle role. From my point of view a designer is more a translator, he translates his client's ideas into images. He is on the border between a psychoanalist and a craftsman. By the way, thank you for all this teaching. Best from France !

It's so humbling how Chris was extremely surprised by how he answered Jane's question by 100%, but the real fact is Chris is always answering all of our questions for :"). Thank you for sharing!

I am thankful that you are speaking to students. After 25 years designing, I believe we need to educate and mentor these minds.

I just love the specialist on the outside and generalist on the inside thing! You guys should really cut this piece and edit it to a shorter video like you guys always do. I have so many interests and things I want to explore that I always feel like giving up on them meant giving up on me, but this concept and what Chris said, I'm sold! So much value in this one and I have never seen Chris talk about it like these. I'm super grateful! Things might start coming together for me because of that!

Edit: just found out the bite-sized video of that part is already on the channel, opsies.

This stream has really blown my mind. Before watching it, I heard about TheFutur and Chris Do but never watched any video till the end, I felt so miserable for that. But now I think I will watch every stream since now. THANKS, Chris for bringing this quality information.

So much value here. Especially 3 years later with the quick development of ai tech.

For me, the difference between art and design is this: Both sides are connected and have creativity as a common source, but the difference is that art must be open to interpretation, the viewer reflects his inner world with that of the artist. Art can be inspiring and/or disturbing, everyone can take what he or she wants from the artwork. Art often asks the big questions of our time, but can rarely give answers.

Design is the exact opposite: Ideally, design should communicate the same thing clearly and understandably for everyone. Design can also be inspiring, but it should reflect the vision/values of the brand/client. Design solves specific problems, i.e. develops answers to specific questions.

Right in between you end up with art that is uninspiring but perhaps beautiful to look at and design that is smooth and beautiful but inefficient and does not solve the client's problems.

I think the first question resonates with a lot of designers when first starting out. Many of us started learning design because of a passion for art and creativity. However, the further down the design road you travel, the less it seems you can indulge your personal creativity.
The vast majority of designers will get their foot in the door with in-house positions pushing pixels at the whim of various clients or senior managers - largely at the mercy of strict brand guidelines and myopic briefs.
The early career grind can be disillusioning unless you can demonstrate enough value to climb out of the pixel pusher roles, or dedicate enough free time to pushing out your personal creativity so that people start to seek you out.

artists - communicate themself through art.
designers - communicate client / brand through designs
