Over the years, I've tried out many online backup services, trying to find an option that offers unlimited storage of terabytes of footage, while also being cheap. Here are my recommendations!

Last month I heard a first hand story of a guy who lost 15 years of his work. He had three back ups… they were all physical drives and all in his studio when a tornado wiped out the entire building. Online backup has been heavy on my mind since. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

Dropbox is not unlimited anymore, even with the advanced plan. 15TB max per user

Hi Matt. I'm your YouTube subscriber here in Brazil.
Glad your videos contain subtitles, this makes it easy for the YouTube system to automatically translate to my language. It's a shame that most youtubers don't think about the possibility of users from other countries also watching the content with the presence of subtitles

So with google enterprise you still get unlimited storage, its just it has a few cavities. First you need to make a shared drive, and then each user that is connected to that shared drive can only upload 750 gb a day, and each shared drive can only have 400, 000 files.

Simply this make a Mac or PC a server and have your drives connected externally or internally, and have it always been backed up with backblaze

Dallas based videographer here too!
I have been using dropbox for many years with my local servers automatically backing up to it. With all cloud storage cracking down including Google Suite/Drive on storage limits, what are you planning on doing now? I am looking all over for another solution. At $9.99 per month per TB and I shoot roughly 25TB per year I will be paying crazy fees that arent worth it.

HI! I just saw that BackBlaze added an option to keep the history version up to a year for an additional $2 / month, so a total of 9! I'm going to try this. it seems much better to have to plug in the HDs once a year instead of once per month.

GoPro Plus membership includes unlimited video backup, and doesn't have to be GoPro footage. Its library system is limited, but workable.

I currently use backblaze. Its downfall is I can't run windows server on the machine I need backed up.
My media server is running a desktop OS because Backblaze won't let me run windows server.

Great videos! You may have answered already, but wondering if you've considered using a NAS system. I've seen it mentioned a lot, though it's probably overkill for me personally.

Seems like a local NAS drive is the way to go now, any other ideas?

Matt, thanks for a super informative video. You mention for unlimited external drive storage with Backblaze, you must be connect them to your computer at least once every 30 days? For how long must you leave them connected? A day, a hour, a minute? Can you do something to must sure they register as connect or do you have to leave it up to Backblaze?

HI Matt
If i shared the dropbox signature with 2 other people, would they access all my files or we have our privacy?
