Could Darth Vader Use Force Lightning?

Could Darth Vader use Force lightning? I think this is up for debate, and expect exactly that to happen in the comments, but I would go with yes. Technically, he could. Should he? No. That would not be a good idea for someone living in a biomechanical suit. In my opinion he would have been able to channel lightning through his cybernetic fingers if he chose to. The Force is about belief and visualization. One of my favorite examples of this is Dagan Gera fighting with both of his hands, despite only physically having one arm. He can visualize the arm he lost, so he still fights like it’s still there. I have no trouble believing that Darth Vader could use Force lightning in theory. It would probably be more difficult for him to visualize and believe it himself. And then if he did pull it off it very well might be the last thing he ever did. In the Star Wars Legends book Splinter of the Mind’s Eye, Vader creates a ball of white energy to attack Luke. The comic adaptation of the story illustrates the energy as something that definitely appears like Force lightning. But I don’t think we will ever see Darth Vader use Force lightning in canon. #starwars

Makes me wonder if Vader could’ve used force lightning with his left, flesh hand before his defeat on Mustafar, without affecting his right arm.

In some comics, Vader uses a force lightning substitute that is weaker then force lightning. I forget the exact name though.

He could do it but would do more damage to himself than his opponent. However he was able to learn kinetite, which allowed him to manifest force lightning out of a particular spot away from his body, thus allowing him to damage his opponent and not himself. Though it was not as powerful as direct force lightning.

The energy ball in the Spinter of the Mind's eye comic bears a resemblance to Kirby Krackle, and is probably inspired by that. Kirby Krackle can be just about anything. In The Last Jedi, Yoda used the Force to strike the tree with lightning from the sky. If Yoda could do that, Vader could probably do something similar for attack purposes. It's probably the least canon piece of Star Wars media ever, but that's exactly what Vader could do in Masters of Teräs Käsi on the PS1.

Belief and imagining, like how Dagan Gera did that to fight with "both" arms is a good way to interpret it. If you believe and put your mind to something, you'll succeed.

If his suit was made from sith alchemy which mimicked his flesh he would be fine, but his suit is a conduvtive scrap heap.

I see no reason why Darth Vader couldn't shoot Force lightning from other parts of his body if he was out of his suit. He could shoot it from his arm stumps or even from his mouth. I'm not aware of any lore that indicates Force lightning has to come out of the hands.
