Today, nostalgic adults still watch the show in syndication, and even the children of today can appreciate its wacky humor.

The show followed the Clampett family, a rural hillbilly troupe who were displaced from their home by the government when a rich deposit of oil was found in their very backyard. The family became rich from the oil, and moved to Beverly Hills in an opulent mansion. The hilarious premise was rich with opportunities for crazy scenarios. Audience members roared with laughter as they watched the backwoods family try to get used to a wealthy lifestyle.

Even though the show was mainly focused on comedy, it had a few touching moral stories, as well. While the “country bumpkin” type are typically looked down upon by the wealthier members of society, the show taught many Americans to appreciate the simpler things in life. It taught people that it’s important not to underestimate others just because they don’t have an impressive career or educational background.

Of course, the most important part of the show was the hilarious shenanigans of the characters. Audience members loved to watch the Clampetts clash with their snooty Beverly Hills neighbors, as well as watch the Clampetts bumble around with more riches than the family had ever dreamed of. And naturally, none of these hilarious performances would have been possible without the show’s stellar cast. An ensemble cast requires not only a variety of impressive actors, but actors who have great chemistry with one another. Despite the actor’s very different life experiences, they were all able to get along on set and perform so that audience members could enjoy an evening of uproarious laughter.

The legendary actor Buddy Ebsen certainly drew audiences in with his impressive acting background, but the show featured many other acting gems who weren’t quite as famous as Ebsen at the time.

Sadly, because the show aired so long ago, many of the cast members have been lost to age and illness. In today’s video, we’re going to take a look at the contributions of each member of The Beverly Hillbillies cast, as well as the way each cast member eventually died. Make sure you stick around, because we’re going to reveal the tragic end of legendary actor Buddy Ebsen! We hope you like this video, and don’t forget to subscribe to Facts Verse for more!

Irene Ryan was absolutely incredible. If this show aired today, she definitely would win an Emmy.

The Beverly Hillbillies was a true classic TV show. Being born in the 1950's I was lucky enough to watch the show when it originally ran.

Donna Douglas was the celebrity guest at our FFA livestock show in Wichita Falls, Texas around 1962 or so. I was 11 or 12. She walked over to our little group and shook all of our hands. We were completely dumbfounded. I've never seen anyone so breathtakingly beautiful. And every bit as sweet as Ellie Mae.

There are two shows that had the PERFECT person cast for key roles: 1) The Beverly Hillbillies Max Bear as Jethro and 2) The Munsters Fred Gwynne as Herman. Neither of these shows would have been the same without these choices. Casting genius.

I’d rather watch reruns of the Beverly Hillbillies then any of the new shows today. Raymond Bailey as Drysdale is one of the funniest characters ever

One of the saddest deaths I’d have to say is that of Mr. Drysdale. I never realized he suffered from Alzheimer’s and basically died a lonely recluse. So sad 😞

I loved them all... especially Granny. She was a great actress. They all are truly missed but thank goodness we have reruns so they can live out their roles for ever. God bless them all.

The Beverly Hillbillies was one of my favorite shows when I was growing up. My mother said that she remembered Buddy Ebsen as a Song and Dance man.

I watched the show start to finish and even the movie. I enjoyed every aspect of the humor and dedication each Star brought to the show. So sad to see shows like this practically disappear from television.
