Max Baer Jr. as Jethro Bodine was one of the funniest characters ever in the history of American TV. My favorite episode of the Beverly Hillbillies was the one inspired by the James Bond film, Goldfinger in which Jethro wanted to be a double naught spy. LOL FUNNY

He always was my Dad's favorite character off the show. He always talks about the scene where Jethro is being electrocuted. And he's like cut the juice, turn me loose lol.

The BEVERLY HILLBILLIES were so excellent not only because of the excellent actors and actresses in the cast, it was also due to their capturing so many elements of early HILL COUNTRY and MOUNTAIN COUNTRY Americana. The politeness and respect that poor Back Country Americans exhibited, was captured so well in this Series!

Impossible to replace such greatness = the entire Nation watched them from a shack on a Tennesee cliff to penthouses in New York City & every major city and for those few minutes were lost in their happy world of silliness they made real forgetting our troubles each one endearing in the role they played, they knocked it outta the park...!
