How to uninstall Tampermonkey from Google Chrome

Open Chrome's menu and select "More tools". Then click at "Extensions", find the Tampermonkey entry and click at "Remove" (if the button is missing, then see steps from below) and confirm with "Remove" again.

!!! Important !!!
In case there is no remove button then you "found" a Chrome "feature" called "Alternative Extension Distribution Options" which allows third-party software (which is not related to me) to instruct Chrome to install extensions.

If you're using Windows the keys are:
32-bit Windows: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Google\Chrome\Extensions
64-bit Windows: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\Google\Chrome\Extensions

Tampermonkey's ID is "dhdgffkkebhmkfjojejmpbldmpobfkfo".

BTW: I'd suggest to check your system for malware and viruses in this case!

For anyone who can't remove it, here's the solution
Delete Google Chrome then reinstall it again, then open it and the extension will be gone, my friend tried this way and it worked
I know that you may lose some info but it's still a good solution if you don't mind losing your info and if you want to get rid of this annoying extension

If I install a script using Tampermonkey and later I'm skeptical about the script. If I uninstall Tampermonkey does that also get rid of the script still running?

THIS DOES NOT WORK. TAMPERMONKEY WON'T ALLOW TO REMOVE SINCE THE BUTTON CANT BE TOUCHED. EVEN AFTER UNINSTALLING GOOGLE CHROME IT KEEPS COMING BACK. Please fix the problem

Oh there you are! There is important bug which makes TamperMonkey almost unusable. on Kiwi browser half of screen is blank in place where keyboard appears.

Hi everyone had the same issue when TamperMonkey is always reinstalling itself,
basically what it did is make a policy to install itself all the time on chrome.


FIRST THING PLEASE BACKUP YOU REGISTRY BEFORE CONTINUING WITH THIS.

open regedit.
go to
if there is a folder named Chrome delete it.
go to
if there is a folder named Chrome delete it.
now you can uninstall TamperMonkey without it reinstalling
