I like the choreography in this fight. Zuko knows Zhao’s fire is stronger, so he uses his agility; he dodges and jumps out of the way until Zhao opens himself instead of just taking fire head on like last time.

Given how La hesitated for a moment, it seemed like it was waiting to see if Zhao was willing to take Zuko's hand. If Zuko thought Zhao was worth saving despite everything he had done to him, perhaps La would have spared Zhao out of respect for the forgiveness. But because Zhao was to stubborn La deemed him not worth sparing.
