What if D&D MONSTERS Were in STRANGER THINGS?! (Lore & Speedpaint)

Stranger things 4 is here (or at least the first half) and watching it has got me inspired to design some creepy beasties! I figured, since the creatures from the Upside Down (The demogorgon, Mind Flayer, Vecna, etc) are named after and inspired by creatures from Dungeons and Dragons, it might be fun take even more D&D Monsters and redesign them to fit into the world of Stranger Things.

So, in this episode I take the Otyugh, Basilisk, Owl Bear and Mimic from D&D and redesign them all and write new lore for them if they were creatures in Stranger Things!

Request log Upload 95: A Terraria or Madness Combat-focused episode. Terraria as DnD monsters or dragons, MC characters as various anime, Transformers, or anything else you can think of. They could both easily be made into amazing art pieces no matter what you decide to mix them with.

You should do a Scooby-Doo episode, like Scooby-Doo characters as dragons, or Scooby-Doo villains as demons. Just seems like they'd fit really well into your world(s).

I actually made a tier list of the D&D creatures/villains that I think are most likely to get into or be referenced in Stranger Things. My top four were:
1. Beholders
2. Tiamat
3. Acererak
4. Orcus

I really enjoy the concept here.
I would also enjoy more Suicide Squad stuff.
Like with Amphibia, use the events of the first half of season 3, and have Waller take the place of Mr. X. Or in “Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean” have Waller take Pucci’s part in Jolyne’s incarceration. Or have the Series finale of Star vs the Forces of Evil, only for the magical heroes of the DC multiverse interfere at the last moment (heck, you can even include your own multiverse heroes). Or have Wonder Woman interfere in the events of the final Attack on Titan season.
Also Once Piece, did you know that Oda suggested real world ethnicities for his characters? Like that Luffy would be Brazilian, Zoro Japanese, Nami Swedish, Usopp South African, Sanji French, Chopper Canadian, Robin Russian, Frankie American, and Brook Austrian.

Maybe you should draw Bakugan creatures as Vehicles (Tank, Helicopter, Battleship, etc.)

I would like to see more Indie Video Game Characters in Mortal Kombat.
This time perhaps with Shovel Knight, Shantae, “Jacket” from Hotline Miami, The Batter from OFF, The Penitent One from Blasphemous, or some of the classes from Darkest Dungeon (Flagellant, Grave Robber, Jester, Leper, or Plague Doctor could be the best picks, as they have the most unique designs)
Or more Cartoon characters on the Suicie Squad. Like Anne from Amphibia, Dick Dastardly and Muttley, The Brain from Pinky and the Brain, Megamind, Carmen Sandiego, Reagan Ridley from Inside Job, Invader ZIM, or Korvo from Solar Opposites

I love how I can picture perfectly Steve slowly reaching for the handle, him hesetating with a shot of his face, that have the camera slowly pan over to the front with suspenseful music. As the mimic revealed its true nature, the subtitles read "(Wet gurgles and flesh shifting noises)"

This was really fun to watch, I loved every second of it. I really hope we get horror icons as dragons to come back I think it’s a fun series that needs more attention, and here is my idea for that…..

Spencis Charnas Origin

After studying the Honey-Hook Wyvern, I end up seeing a couple of knights from the Las Angels Guard working on a quest about the death of a women who has connections to a specific person they were looking for which has a connection to these dragons I was studying. So I was lead to this carnival of carnage we’ll call it which had some of the dragons I talked about already like the Fanged Jester, the Scorched Nightmare, The October Slow Stalker, and the 4 other dragons that I mentioned already. It made me remember the times I went to the kingdom where Willis Afterian used his so called dragons as attractions which is now a different kingdom entirely at this point and the kingdom has been destroyed by the time I’m telling you about him.

But I also saw and interview the owner of this place and his name was Spencis Charnas. He was wearing a suit that resembled half of a Scorched Nightmare and a Crystal Lake Camp Stalker with half of his face (well 25% of his face) covered with the fake skull of one of these dragons. But he also was holding a cane with a skull on top of the handle and wore (just for show) a bladed glove which represented the right hand of a scorched nightmare. He told me that he was really fascinated about these dragons sense he was little when he encountered the same exact October Slow Stalker that I studied that was caged here, which he said inspired someone to kill his sister, her friends, and even his parents which he ended up killing him in self defense but also he was a kid at the time and I don’t know if a kid could kill a full grown adult. Then he told me other things about him like he is the leader of a traveling folk story group that tells tales of these dragons.

But when he said that I did see when studying the Crystal Lake Camp Stalker that there were these lines of their little tale in the area which said…

"He Drowned in all our sins
He drowned in our mistakes
Fueled by the flood, we pay in blood
The curse of Crystal Lake"

And then I forgot about when I studied the Honey-Hook Wyvern I saw these lines which read….

"Left to die under the sun
The hive never spared anyone
How 'bout the hand for the honey bees
Hooked on the creed of their colony"

The most messed up part about the writing is that they were written in the blood of the dead bodies that were at the area where they were written.

Also Spencis told me about this place’s history and the dragons that he really wants in here and he even gave me the privilege to study them after hours when the place closes since he knew I was the Overseer of this world and knew how much I liked studying mythical beast, he would even asked me to create more of these types of dragons if I wanted too.

Then I asked him the big question that I think he knew I was gonna ask which was….

Why is the Las Angels Guard after you?

He told me more about his past where he was connected with the case of the death of Elias Black who was the alchemist who would help Spencis with his nightmares while he was traveling with his group which he told me that the fanged jester that was caged here, which I remembered that I studied that exact same fanged jester tortured Elias and killed him and now he is connected to the death of the women that I heard about which turned out is his Fiancé and the Las Angels leader Captain Harris isn’t stopping until he is behind bars. But Spencis told me that he knows who really killed her and he won’t stop until the real killer pays for what he has done.

But then I shook his hand and then left after talking to him and he even asked me if I was coming to opening night of the carnival and I told him yes and he told me these four words that I won’t forget "Sometimes…. Dead is Better." Which ended up gave me a shiver that went down my spine for some reason.

Then the big night came and Spencis Sang one of his songs with his group which was the Anthem to this place.

Then Spencis say these three words that would end up sticking with me every time I go to this place no matter if this place is opened or not which were…

Welcome to Horrorwood!!!

For context, the character Spencis Charnas is based off of Ice Nine Kills Frontman Spencer Charnas who has made horror movie themed metal albums and I turned him into a ringmaster and owner of a freak show like carnival were these dragons are now going to be residing.

The Honey-Hooked Wyvern is based off of Candyman and the Crystal Lake Camp Stalker is based off of Jason Voorhees.

But overall what do you think?

Also can we get an episode like taking anime characters and putting them in the world of Persona (specifically the 5th one) or just a straight up Persona episode?

Also I want to know where I can send you this origin story for you so you can use it because I really want to let you use it? If that’s all right with you.

This was a very interesting video to watch, I really liked the Mimic! It’s mouth is TERRIFYING. And the Owl Bear creature gave me Colossal Titan vibes XD
There’s a lot that can be done with Stranger Things, and in my opinion would be cool would be taking Stranger Thing monsters and putting them in another horror series setting, like FNaF, Dark Deception, and/or Phasmophobia.
Can’t wait to see the Elemental Demons!

Just a little dumb idea I’ve had in reaction to Netflix’s
recent animation purge



“Netflix Genesis Erasure: You can (Not) Renew”


Basically leads from Netflix cartoons cast as the characters
of Neon Genesis Evangelion


Hilda as Rei Ayanami. I’d also suggest to design her mecha
with Norse and Scandinavian aesthetics in mind.


Teodora from Legend Quest as Asuka Langley. Her mech should
have an Aztec and Mexican folk aesthetic.


Kid Cosmic as Shinji Ikari. His mecha should have a Silver
Age aesthetic.


Anton Yelchin from Trollhunters as Touji Suzuhara. His mech
should also has a strong Norse aesthetic, especially double down on the Viking
angle.


Clancy Gilroy from The Midnight Gospel as Kaworu Nagisa. His
mech should be like a mish-mash of Indian, Tibetan, and Egyptian elements, with
an emphasis on the New Age angle.


Kipo Oak from Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts as Mari
Illustrious Makinami. Her mech should have a post-apocalyptic, Fallout-like
aesthetic to it.



Reagan Ridley from Inside Job as Misato Katsuragi.


BoJack Horseman as Gendo Ikari

mech should combine elements of the Knight Chess peace, and an Academy Awards
