I love that the staff so clearly adores her and is doing what they can to both thank her and generally make thier Princess a bit happier as she's dealing with all this

This is undoubtedly one of my favorite films of this year. I cried twice. What a great story with a solid message and memorable songs.

I don't get why I see people saying this movie's predictable or cookie cutter. Maybe it's because I didn't see much promotional material before seeing it, nor did I know it was supposed to be about divorce, but it wasn't predictable for me. The ending was actually surprising to me. Half the time I was wrong to where the story was going, and unlike Disney's Wish where I was confused and largely emotionless the whole time, Skydance's Spellbound took me on an emotional roller-coaster, especially during The Way it Was Before and Remembering. And the songs are not all the same; I don't get why critics are saying that? This movie is literally what I've been craving from Disney for years.

How are people criticizing this movie? I thought it was delightful and really fun to watch. I especially loved the songs in this movie, including this one.

To everyone comparing it to Brave, how?! In Brave Merida turned her mom into a bear, in Spellbound, her parents turned into monsters because they had orovlems that they refused to talk about concerning their marriage and entered a entered a magic forest that turned them into how they were acting in the inside. These are two completely different movies and concepts! 🤦🏿‍♂️

I'm so glad I didn't believe the reviews on this one and watched it for myself! It was really good! Even better than a certain Disney movie that came out last year...

Ngl, for the haters saying that the whole divorce theme "came out of nowhere" thats actually a good thing in a way. Because for some kids, thats how divorce can feel.

Love the movie, it was cute, fun and the message was great, people love to complain about stories being to "woke" but it was a perfect way to touch on a difficult subject in a charming way.

My parents divorced when I was in 4th grade so it was a suprise to me at the very end when they actually had a similarish situation what I had to deal with growing up. Also the feeling the divorce made me feel I will never forget it. I also blamed myself think it was my fault that my parents divorced. I'll never forget so it really meant a lot to me when they represented for ppl like me. the most important thing outside of the parents relationship is what about ur kids what is best for them because a lot of times it dose actually make the parents forget about their kids and how it makes them feel. So I really enjoyed this movie and the outcome the parents chose to do because thats what my parents had to do and we r way happier compared to when they were together. So I really loved this entire movies especially the music because the music actually moved the story forward in my opinion.

I loved this movie - especially as someone who has parents who are divorced and had to grow up on my own so it really resonated with me a lot

Okay, I'll give my thoughts on the film since everyone else is doing this. I thought this was good but not great. It starts off average, and yeah, the main character singing to the audience was a little off-putting, but it got progressively better as it went along. At the very least, it does seem like now that former Disney employees are working for Skydance, they're slowly getting better.

Though I find it kinda funny people are calling this predictable, but can anyone honestly say they went into this knowing it would be about divorce and actually end with the parents being divorced and it being seen as perfectly okay without having to look it up? (Though I have to admit, I would have liked it a little bit better if they had remained as monsters at the end. I actually thought it was going in that direction) It's like when people called Monsters University 100% predictable, like they somehow went into it knowing it would end with Mike and Sully being kicked out of MU. Seriously.

And even then, it's obvious what the people at Skydance are doing here. They're following in the footsteps of Tangled, Frozen and Moana and giving audiences a classic style fairy tale film, and while it could have been executed better, it was at least enjoyable. Plus you gotta admit, Alan Menken brought his A-game to this score. There were moments where the background melodies often reminded me of The Little Mermaid.

As for one complaint I saw about every animated fairy tale female lead being the same, I'm assuming that was alluding to the whole' adorkable' criticism that's been thrown around a lot lately. First off, I can only name four recent female Disney leads since Tangled who really fall under that category (Moana doesn't act like that nearly often enough for her to count, not to mention I said female leads since Mirabel's not a princess), but even then, is it really such a bad thing to give audiences princesses who act more like actual teenagers? On a side note, has everyone forgotten that Ariel was the original adorkable princess? This isn't as new as you guys think it is.

I will watch anything and everything that Rachel Zegler stars in for the rest of her career because she is brilliant, beautiful, talented, and intelligent.

Additionally, Rachel is an amazing role model who is always on the right side of history.

I am proud to support her by being a Zeglian and I will happily watch everything she ever stars in for the rest of her career which will last her entire life just for her because she is talented, intelligent, selfless, empathetic, and beautiful in every way possible.

The world needs more people like Rachel Zegler because it is people/heroes like her who make the world a better place for everyone.

The entire movie used songs in most places, which made me very bored while explaining the movie, but the movie is actually very beautiful. I laughed so hard at Flink's scene when he was attacked by another Flinks and had to eat their dirty food.

Alan Menken is one of my favorite composers. From Newsies to Little Mermaid and all the way here. Was a really enjoyable movie and my 5 year old laughed very hard at many moments. Also not a very scary movie.
