How to fix 'Oops, Google Chrome could not find' error

We have all been victims of the annoying "Oops! Google Chrome could not find" error. I found a way to get past it. I've stressed many hours into finding a solution. So if this doesn't work for you, sorry.

Awesome! This has been the most obnoxious problem with Chrome, but previously I had mistakenly blamed it on my connection. When the same error happened on my laptop at work, I got suspicious of Chrome, but never found a good way to fix it. So far, this has worked like a charm. Before, I had to reload about a third of the pages I tried viewing, but none so far since making this unbelievably simple change. Everything seems to load faster, too.

I went to Chrome's privacy settings and deselected as you advised. It worked like a charm. Many thanks!

That seems to have fixed things on my end. Thank you. I had clicked the third option (after figuring it was equivalent to the former DNS option), but not the first. Thank you again.

this worked for me.go to chrome proxy settings<lan settings<check use proxy for lan and click ok.i had p;roblem with loading websites and this solved it.

Took chrome 1 hour to load the settings page!!! But then I could uncheck the magical boxes that made life so miserable and unproductive! U prevented my screen getting smushed with exploded nerd-face! Thx in name of my whole family and the cleaning crew!

Thanks so much for uploading that video. I had that error problem once before but couldn't remember the fix. Thanks also for the update on where "under the hood" disappeared to. Sad to see Google edging towards the straight laced corporate persona with a dull "advanced settings" heading hidden at the bottom of the page.

for the newest version

1st- Click the wrench icon (some themes have different icons)

2nd- Click settings

3rd- Make sure you are on the Settings tab

4th- Scroll down and click 'Show advanced

5th- Find the privacy section, probably the first one after clicking the advanced settings
and uncheck the 1st one and the 3rd one.

then there could be settings when u scroll down there will be an option for show advanced settings there you can find privacy tab. thanks
