I head to the Sphinx on my 2nd day in Giza Egypt. I take a taxi to the Sphinx entrance and ticket booth which is over 1.2km (0.7 miles) from the Great Pyramid entrance. After seeing the Sphinx I rent a camel and ride it to the Panoramic Point where you can get amazing photos in front of 6 pyramids as well as having the city of Giza in your background.
How much is a camel ride at the pyramids? It is 500 EGP ($16) just for the camel. You can ride the camel yourself if you know how to ride (not recommended) or a guide can guide you while you ride the camel. It is about a 30 minute ride from the Sphinx to the Panoramic Point one way. You will also have to tip the guide for walking your camel through the desert for an hour and also taking pictures of you. If you come to Egypt, a camel ride at the pyramids is one of the things you must do.
