Please google do not listen to this man. Do not add sharpness to pixels raw photos. He is missing the entire point with raw photos. Don't do like apple and add 50% sharpness in raw files.

I saw that you can add an ssd to record video from the iphone 15 pro directly to the ssd using usb-c. Is is possible to do the same with a Pixel 8 Pro ? thx.

Nice review mate, good to Pixels are continuing with the great cameras.
As extra ideas go, I wouldn't mind seeing some night sky / moon shots on the new Pixels camera.
I was surprised how well my Pixel 6 (non pro) could catch stars even in a residential area,
So would be nice to see how much/if that has been improving.

Thanks Colin -- really appreciate the review. My pixel 7 pro boasts of 48 megapixels but only outputs 12.5 MP file, even when shooting RAW. Has that changed on the Pixel 8 Pro?

Interesting Colin, but I think we get invested in a platform, and become reluctant to change. Did you mention how much the the two phones cost? iPhones are getting crazy expensive nowadays. While you are talking cell phones, I'd love to see you talk about Lightroom Mobile.

Your comments on the Pixel 8 Pro when it comes to softness on the dng files compared to the iPhone 15 pro is true. Yet if you look at what ACR does in terms of default sharpening the iPhone gets a little higher sharpening and radius values compared to the Pixel. If you apply the same sharpening values to the Pixel things do improve yet still not as crisp as the iPhone. Looks like ACR still does not have full support for the pixel there is no lens correction profile yet and also the default camera profile for the pixel looks off.

Video comes off very one sided, in reality, these flagship phones are more similar and differences are mostly subjective. Maxtech (I think that is what channel is called) has some blind tests that really put things in perspective.
