Quick question! Why is PV for a loan negative (5:10)? I have always been taught that for loans the PV is positive because the balance in your bank account increases, which results in a negative payment each month (representing money leaving your account). For investments, the inverse is true (money is leaving your account initially, with the understanding that FV will then be positive at the end of the investment period).

Is the monthly payment paid on the beginning of each month or at the end of it?

So, lets say I bought a car for 67, 500 less rebate of 375 with a down payment $3000 at 8% interest for 4 years. How would I figure out what my monthly pmt is. Lets say I can afford a $950 payment, how much would I have to put for a down payment in this same case scenario? Can you help?
