I am 81 years old now. When I turned 18, my Mother looked me in the eye and said-

"what are you going to do?"
I said: "what do you mean, what am I going to do?"
She: "where are you going to live?"
Me: "Can't I live here for a while?"
She: " I raised you, fed you for 18 years, provided a home, bought you clothes, took you to the dentist and doctor and gave you an allowance and bus fare to get to school. Now you are a young man and have to take care of yourself. You can stay here for two weeks and then you have to leave and you will be on your own."...

Looking back I realized that was the best thing that ever happened to me. I ended up joining the Navy Air and was an air crew member (loadmaster) on 4 engine transport planes. Our missions were all over the world. In the time I was in active, I travelled to over thirty countries. After serving 4 years, I entered college and obtained a Bachelors degree in Management. Got married, started a business, became financially successful and enjoy great life. The medical benefit and educational benefit can't be beat. Free for life. That in itself is a good reason to join the military.

I absolutlely hated going to meps without a doubt I would sit there at 4:30 in the morning until 11 just to talk to someone that was probably one of the most annoying things I've ever had to deal with

Its funny you said if you stayed, not knowing what to do besides just going aimlessly going to school. Im 26 years old this past August and thats what happend to me lol. Currently enlisting into the marine corp. Going MCSG, just want to travel, serve the country with purpose. I was deterred from doing it after high school because of my parent's. But after many desk jobs, warehouse jobs, construction jobs. Sick of it all and just want to have a bigger meaning to my life. Great video, keep it up!

If you play your cards right. You'll do college classes in high school. Come in as an E2 or Airmen wait the few months in Tech School to rank up to E3. Use the CCAF to get an Associates or use FTA to get a degree or most of a degree. Punch out of Active Duty using a Palace Program into the Reserves/National Guard then separate into IRR. Then you'll be free to live the life you like.

DUDE! this video is a blessing! I've always like working on cars, and knowing more about mechanical. I've been looking around trying to find the branch that will benefit and have what I'm looking for. Im leaning towards Air Force because of the technical and mechanical opportunities that it has compared to others. Although i do like the army as well because of the pt aspect + some handful mechanical jobs

I think you should be glad you got to serve in the greatest Air Force on the planet. I am proud of my service. I went to Sheppard also.

I must admit that this is the best information I got learning about the air force. Very straight-foward & honest. I wrote down notes while watching this video and most likely will commit to the air force. I'm 25 years old and have nothing to lose anymore but want to be set for my future 5-10 years from now and sacrificing 4 years of my life for the better is so much worth it. thank you for making this video man I really needed this! you're a huge blessing and i wish you the best on your journey! much love to you

I'll be 25 in a couple months and have over 14k in credit card debt and just under 20k in a car loan with a credit union. Im having to miss payments every month. I would like to start Active duty like.. Today, like i'm really eager for the new experiences and skills I could gain and that it could really help pay my debt. But I do want to take a few days off during my contract and visit my family because family is an important part of life, I want to make sure they are happy and that I could do something that could help them if I can. I'm not athletic because of my exercise induced asthma and I would like to be athletic though.
The main problem is that I know when I leave the military, I will not have a job. I've already applied to possibly tens of thousands of jobs and not gotten an interview. I can show my indeed and my email. I don't know if i should just choose the longest military contract and keep renewing or if i should do something else idk
