This is my favorite song and solo of all time. I rip it every single day. Allen collins is my all time favorite guitarist he was so smart when it came to song writing, making riffs like Needle and the spoon, gimme three steps, on the hunt…. I love Allen’s aggressive playing style and tone when he uses the bridge to get that bite especially on this solo. He made me a Firebird and Explorer fan for sure 😅SKYNYRD4LIFE

PS side story. a long time ago around 1991 I went to see them at the Sony center in Camden Nj with my friend and sister.
I was going to buy a ticket at the venue for my friend since it was a last-minute thing.
I wound up being short because of parking and could not buy one.
While trying to figure out what to do a gentleman in a lot of leather came over to me in a wheelchair and asked if I needed a ticket.
I figured he was a scalper and told him what happened
and that I was $5 short for one.
He smiled, reached in a fanny pack, pulled out a ticket and handed it to me.
I went to give him the money and he smiled again and said 'It's free, enjoy the show'
I thanked him and went back to my group.
later on I figured out who that kind man was that had given me the ticket.
the man in the black wide brim leather hat sitting in his wheelchair, with his souvenir damaged leg from the plane crash on October 20th, 1977, smiling and handing out some free tickets to his fans that looked like they needed them. I only wish I had gotten an autograph.
