I'm not sure I want newer GPU's when some are expected to get up to 600w by themselves. I really want to see the performance gains with less power draw and heat.

Unless they are dropped by 50%, I'm sticking with my 1080ti

I hate to say it but at this point, if the Intel cards aren't prices extremely aggressive, they will have taken too long to release.

Don't be fooled. None of these price drops are from the good will of the manufacturer/3rd party. They are doing it because the demand is lower (scalpers/miners not buying as much). Still good thing for all of us gamers, but def not out of the goodness of any companies.

feels like GPUS hit a wall or something
performance coming at these huge power draws isnt worth it lol

They have to lower prices to push inventory before next gen gpu's come out

Imho the prices will drop into oblivion soon:
-Supply is now keeping up with demand
LOWERING PRICES
-Ethereum going PoS means miners will flood the used market with used mining cards
LOWERING PRICES
-Intel dropping new gpus, which will have only about a 3 month window for sales, and will need to compete with both the used mining cards and the next gen gpus, so will be priced very aggressively
LOWERING PRICES EVEN FURTHER

Not to mention if the market now gets flooded with affordable gpus, next gen ones wont be priced to the moon as many feared until now, especially with a now VERY competitive AMD to battle out Nvidia

By the end of the year the 2021 gpu apocalypse will transition into the best time to buy a gpu that has ever been. Just doing some educated speculation on my part

I’ll believe the price drop and availability of cards when I see them on the shelf at my local retailer with my own eyes. Until then I’ll remain skeptical. Honestly, both AMD and Nvidia have lost a lot of goodwill with gamers for their ZERO help combating scalpers and miners. They didn’t care about us at all as long as the cards were selling to those groups but now they want to start pretending like they care now? Really? I’m going to stick with my current build for a few more years at least. Forget it.

Now I know why Paulo (Blender today host - its Blenders offical YT channel) smiled weirdly when I asked him during of his streams if Intel GPUs will be supported in Blender somewhat at launch.

Tbf. The scene was setup at 32 samples (with Blender 3.1 u usually do like 128 - 512 to get the best quality / speed compromise) and they had it setup to denoise every 8th sample (I usally do every second sample denoising). So idk what to think about it.

Rewind back to late 2019. You buy an 800$ card but you pay an extra ~400 dollars above the original 400$ msrp. So now you can enjoy gaming every day in your free time for 2+ years *or*
not buy and wait 2+ years for the prices to drop to what the manufacturer said is the msrp.
That extra 400 bucks distributed to 730 days (2 years) is like 50 cent a day... 15$ a month. Like you would sub to xbox gp, or google stadia.
I know people who are subbed and barely use that service for months.... I mean it seems to me no one knows their priority or what they want...

Its not aggressive if its not below MSRP. We’re over a year in for this generation…

I was just checking the prices in local shop. 3060 ti - 600usd, 3070 ti - 1000usd, 3080 - 1500usd, 3090 - 2400 usd and expected price of 3090 ti they say is over 2600usd... prices are with VAT and all that. To me, they are still pretty high.

This is just the natural progression we've seen in GPU pricesz where is the "heavy price-cut"?
